After much deliberation I have decided to get a new or almost new 987S.
As some of you know, I have a 986S that I have been (and still am) very fond of for many reasons.

Before deciding on a new 987S I have been considering quite a few other cars, but no other car has a total package that delivers as well as the Boxster in the areas that are important to me:
Handling, power, fun, looks, feel (physical and emotional), cabrio, brand appeal.
All in all a great driver's car with an unbeatable fun/style/whoohoo!-factor.

BMW M3 cabrio is fast and raw, but still a converted family car - and it ain too pretty IMO.
The Honda 2000, Imprezas, EVO 8, Nissan 350 ZX etc are all nice, but at the end of the day simply dont have the built quality nor the class that a P offers.
Here in Denmark you get an Audi (A4/S4/RS4) Cabrio for free everytime you buy a tie and a Hugo Boss suit. It's a bland/nice wannabe sportscar. Nice handling and amazing looks but not a P.

Mercs? I dont wanna fall asleep behind the wheel...
Ferrari? Cheapest one is the 997 turbo-priced 430, and at 500,000$ it's totally out of my league. Besides... I'd rather have a 997 turbo

I even considered the Corvette, but it's simply too ...well, American in a bad way, and has an ugly front and a scary interior.
So without flaming any other car on the Planet I ended back where I started. With the Boxey.
(If you have any other suggestions in the same price range Id be happy to hear!)

My only problems with the Boxster is its lack of power (compared to what it can handle) and its rear end design. The taillights look ugly compared to the 986 IMO.

I find the 997 incredibly beautiful, only surpassed in beauty by the Aston Martin DB7 and V8.
And the 997s has the power I miss in the Boxster.
Trouble is I dont want a coupé. I want an open car, and the 997s Cabrio looks like it has a big hump on the back. The car simply isn't as beautiful as the 997 coupe or the 987 IMO.
On top of that, the 997s convertible will run me appr. 350.000 USD in Denmark....and thats both beyond what I am willing to pay for any car here in Denmark, and what it's worth to me.
The 987 will still run me appr. 240.000 USD, so customs are doing what they can to not make me pick a Boxey again
I believe the 987S is a better driving machine that the legendary 911 - and so my perfect car would be a 400 BHP Boxster S with some nice extras - like 19-20" rims and a modified exhaust note.

So bottom line is that I have decided to find a new or slightly used 987s in Germany or similar, and import it.

My challenge now is quit a delightful one: Which color to pick?

My current P is arctic silver, which is both beautiful and waaaaay too common.
And even tho the 987 is 80% new parts compared to the 986, I wont get that new-car-feel if I buy a car in the same color again...
So silver is out for now.

Black: Beautiful when clean, but you cant see the lines of the car and its hot as hell in the summer.

Red: Different and stunning...but the red taillights looks silly on a red background.
Do silver taillights exist?

Yellow: WOW! Didnt think speedgelb (speed yellow) would look that good, but it does - especially with silver/chrome trimming and rims etc.
Trouble is that yellow makes it look like a toy car - or something meant for the track only...and lets face it: I use it as my daily driver.

Dark Blue: Not my color. Light blue (917 gulf style): Too fresh - would probably grow tired of it.

Atlas grey: Perhaps. A bit "safe" and conservative, but beautiful...perhaps with a tan interior?

White: Saw one with cocoa interior, and while different and very "sun-shiny" it s also a bit too tropical and hip-hop-pornstar-ish...

Orange and green: No chance.

Purple: Perhaps a deep purple could be stunning, but that would have to be a BTO-paintjob, and I dont feel like waiting an extra 6 mths.

OK...so whats left?
HEELP!`?!?!?

Id really appreciate any input, be it practical considerations, subjective feelings on colors or any other helpful suggestions.

a-thankyou...
