I think that the effect on exclusivenes would be marginal. True car people know that the Boxter is in another league out of the 911, just as they will (I hope) with a proposed "Small Ferrari".

I agree. But I see however a problem: I know a lot of people who could afford a Ferrari but went for a Porsche, Mercedes or even a BMW instead. In Germany and probably in other countries too, owning a Ferrari (no matter it is is a used one for somehow cheap money or the Enzo) "brands" the owner with the words VERY RICH on his forehead. A lot of people don't like it and prefer a more subtle way of enjoying themselves. My US friends shouldn't take it personal what I say now but I think an entry level Ferrari would mostly have a huge success in the US and this is why I also think that the design will be adapted to US customer "taste".

Isn't Maserati the affordable Ferrari ? Italian but JAG looking and low key
