They should've made it go 300 mph (so close already)
The tire development was, again, a real challenge as far as I heard. Another 10 mph may not sound much but it would have required some real upgrades (thermodynamics, tires, aerodynamics, etc.). How do I know? Well, a Porsche guy who knows another Porsche guy knows another Porsche guy who apparently assisted in engineering the car.
For every little speed increase over 430 kph, they had to fight though huge obstacles. This is not a tuner car which hits a speed record once. This car needs to be able to hit the top speed all the time and without any issues regarding stability, braking, aerodynamics, tires or cooling.
I wonder how much loss Bugatti makes this time on each car.
Actually, VW should give them away for free to good sports car customers. Buy three Porsche and three Lamborghini at a time and you get a free Chiron on top.
