Back on topic:

At a party last evening, I met the Audi dealer from whom I bought one of my daughters a 2012 A3 TDi.  He said the whole VW emissions thing has very little impact on Audi in USA.  He said that only 14-15,000 Audi cars in total are affected.  There is a software fix for 2015 and what few 2016 TDis have been sold, and the procedure should start in a few months. The earlier cars won't have a fix (hardware required) until maybe 1 year from now.

His store only sells one or two A3 TDi cars per month, so he would barely notice the 2016 stop sale.  The 2016 model season is now over and the next series will all be 2017 model year starting next year.
