Bad luck, this is why I do not really like the Nordschleife. Once there is liquid (oil, coolant?) on the surface, you're doomed, no matter how good you drive (GT3 driver looked quite skilled to me...). Unless of course there was a driver error involved but I am pretty sure something was on that surface and the GT3 driver was driving (almost) at the limit.

But that can happen on any track. Or highway. 

The Nordschleife allows incredible speeds and many people are driving at or close to the limit.

Normal tracks are usually different, also (depending on track management and maintenance) they are usually better monitored because it is easier than on the Nordschleife.

Also, last but not least, I would never drive at the limit on a public road, simply because sh.t happens. Smiley
