REALZEUS:

Paddle shifters that follow the wheel is the worst idea ever, unless you never have to take your hands off the wheel, as is the case in F1. Ferrari places big shifters and even with the wheel turned you can always grab a gear. Spinning padlles are just infuriating!

I have both and frankly not much difference since you never really change gears with a lot of steering angle in spirited driving. 

Fwiw, my turbo  S paddles are better than my California and 8C I would say. I've driven both on alpine roads with loads of hairpin and both systems are acceptable. 

The best remains a proper manual anyway for having fun. 

Now these automated gearboxes are so clever you're better off leaving them in sport + or race mode.
