PDK is not an automatic gearbox, you just need to get used to it. Of course you can downshift at higher rpm but when the system "feels" that you could hit the rev limiter, you can't shift. I remember a friend who owns a GT3 and when asked how many times he actually hit the rev limiter when shifting, he always said never. At his first engine failure, he got into a fight with Porsche and they found at least 20(!) relevant rev limiter events in the system. Smiley Apparently he wasn't aware of it...adrenaline pumping and all. 

The factory chassis setups are very conservative, there is definitely room for improvements.
