The 5hp increase in power appears to be the smallest increase ever made between new models.

We all know improvement in performance requires a lot more than power, but therein lies the question - why didn't Porsche add more power? Possible answers:

1. To leave room for future variants below the Base Carrera, e.g. Spyder, R, with a bit more power?
2. To leave room for a 4 cylinder TURBO Boxster with, say, 345hp?
3. Because anything more than 5hp brought the Boxster too close or better than 991 base Carrera ring time?
4. To allow space for the new Cayman to fit between the Boxster and base 991.

Perhaps only RC can answer the question with his contacts... :)

I'm sure it drives better than my RS60, but I have 303hp and £40,000 GBP cost to change to a similar spec 981S with 315hp is way too expensive!!
