I actually think that the new M5 should have at least 600 HP flat to cope with a possible future competition and of course to annihilate the current one.

Not sure this is going to happen though, BMW M GmbH needs to achieve a certain sales price, so adding more goodies to the M5 should be a (financial) problem.

I think making 580 hp from a biturbo engine instead of 550 hp won't cost anything to BMW. It is turbo engine and BMW have been making this engine for the last almost 2 years. Squezing another 30 hp should not be expensive on a bi-turbo engine. It is not like getting 580 hp from the current V10.
