ISUK, could you please explain to Nick that your name is a variation on the spelling of the scottish name "Ian",  and is spelt "capital "I" small "ain". Smiley

I know you are just being too polite to correct his writing of your name, but it makes my pedant's heart bleed every time I read it. Yet if I corrected, him he'd just say I'm being persinickety again. Smiley

Smiley That is absolutely correct fritz. It is the Scottish spelling and is actually the Gaelic name for John. I've got so used to people spelling it incorrectly over the years I've almost come to expect it but Mick Berry's use of Lain is a new one on me Smiley Smiley

Bingo!
Finally, I've always wondered and have therefore never used either Iain nor Lain.

Thought it was Lain and couldn't figure out whe people were using what looked like a non-capital L or l. Now I see the I is actually a capital i and not a non-capital L.

Now I can sleep tonight Smiley

You can learn a lot from rennteam.com. Smiley

But just don't take everything you read here for gospel. Smiley
