personally, i would not go for a 997 t this point s the 991 is more or less around the corner.

the way porsche has been going recently, i think we can expect quite a lot in terms of technological advances in even the base 991 series.

it seems tht porsche is really back on track under piiech and we can expect the 991 turbo to be at the very top of the food chain when it is released in about 3 years from now.

the r8 is a great looking car and surely a great car to own/drive. audi quality with supercar looks.

you did not specify if 8 or 10 cylinder r8 ?

in terms of performance, both won't match the turbo s numbers.
