Every manufacturer has cars make it to the consumer with issues that should have been fixed before release, that's why there are lemon laws, which Porsche owners among others have used to rid themselves of troublesome cars. My limited experience with Ferrari (2004 360 Modena and 2005 F430 Coupe, both purchased new) indicates build quality and detail control at least equal to Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW.
