Got back to SW Colorado again this fall and did the most-serious 4-wheeling I've ever done. This particular trip started in Silverton. We went up the w. part of CO-110, then n. thru Hurricane Pass, then past Como Lake, and then to this little bowl pictured here. While I walked about the top trying to pick the lesser of 4 evils, a big Ford pickup arrived form the north. He twice tried driving up the easiest-looking of the 4 and eventually turned around and went back down. I carefully and slowly negotiated the short-but-steep hill. We proceeded down Poughkeepsie Gulch and joined Engineer Pass Road, the northern end of what's called the Alpine Loop. I punctured another tire (apparently with one of the billions of very sharp rocks on these old mining roads) and before I realized it, ruined a pair of rims on one of my 3-piece wheels.

This is my first attempt at posting a pic here-- [image]http://community.webshots.com/photo/94072630/463242042ComHMY[/image]

All the pics are here.

The CT performed flawlessly and really impressed some hard-core 4-wheelers.
