    Ferrari Scam

Here’s the story how the official dealer of Ferrari in Austria - Keusch Premium scammed 2 people who ordered 488 GTB's.

It all started in September 2015 when me and friend of mine decided to order two Ferrari 488 GTB’s. After checking the dealers list on Ferrari’s official web site, we decided to go to the dealer in Vienna - Keusch Premium. After a few emails and phone call we arranged a meeting at the dealership. Mr. Jürgen Keusch was very kind and helpful and in two hours the cars were configured, agreements were signed, and deposit payment of EUR 70 000 for each car were wired. Me and my friend happily went to celebrate in a nice restaurant. In 6 months we were about to get our first Ferrari’s - both red, with lot’s of carbon inside and at the right time - the spring of 2016.

Only that it wasn’t meant to be. Little did we know that Jürgen Keusch will try to scam us and Ferrari doesn’t care that it’s been deeply involved in a scam for €140 000.

As the deadline for receiving the cars approached we tried to reach Mr. Keusch asking a simple question - when is the production date (week) for our cars so that we could make some plans. He didn’t respond. After our persistent calls he started telling lies - "don’t worry, there might be a delay but you will enjoy your wonderful cars once you get them…"

A month later after some very difficult communication with Ferrari’s HQ we were informed that Keusch Premium has lost his dealership contract and now he is “just an official service center for Ferrari and Maserati”. And our two cars? They haven’t even been ordered at all!

And what would Ferrari do to cover this mess? Nothing! They suggested that we should ask for our deposits and place a new order with another dealer. And Keusch? He refused to return the deposits!!! Not only we didn’t get our Ferrari’s but we were about to be scammed with EUR 140 000….by an official dealer of Ferrari

It was time to call the lawyers. Once we started legal proceedings against both Keusch and Ferrari we finally got our money back...But we won’t stop here...We have official correspondence with all parties involved, we will sue them to the end and it will make a great news story.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Wow, you guys are not the only ones. He pulled the same crap with many other clients.

Glad you got your money back though.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Just to be clear you though you would walk in a Ferrai dealer you had no relation with, give a deposit and 6 months later get their brand new model with a two year waiting list everywhere else? Very fishy right from the start. Glad you got your money back.

There's no waiting list for the 488 in Europe or Arabian gulf countries. I even heard the waiting list keeps getting shorter and shorter in NA.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

He ordered it 9 months ago... Now they have the spider and soon the "speciale" coming out so the lines better come down...

    Re: Ferrari Scam

True, but the Max waiting list for the gtb was 6 months from the get go.

    Haha good for you Herbaliser!
People like this should be sued to the bone!

There's no lines or waiting outside of the US. US market is a just racket.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

I once had a $10k deposit at a Ferrari dealer when the wait list was 5 years long (early 2000's).  I went to check on the time left after 2 years and they said the wait was still 5 more years.  I was sure they had moved people ahead of me in line, so I cancelled my order and asked for my redundable deposit.  It took 5 months for them to pay me.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Hopefully with the bean counters at the helm of Ferrari now production will go up and these silly artificial wait time will disappear.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

i got my deposit back as well, it took many emails though....

It was an official Ferrari dealer, so why should they be suspicious? Smiley

Ferrari should take care of these scammed customers, their reputation is on the line here.

I have no trust in any dealer but the Ferrari ones are at the bottom of the list...

Dealerships in Europe are usually a bit different from the ones in the US and I am very surprised that the Ferrari dealer in Vienna was able to pull this stunt. I am even more surprised that Ferrari wouldn't care. Smiley

I never trust dealers without brand affiliation, there are lots of black sheep out here in Germany.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

i believe the vienna dealer kept taking deposits even after he had learned that his contract would be cancelled by ferrari. this is also why i did not get the 488GTB which i had ordered. he dealt without quotas....

for me the thing ended well. i prefer the GT3RS over the 488GTB and i got my deposit back. but i agree that ferrari should have intervened to defend their reputation.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Once the legal dispute is over, I will post here my official correspondence with Ferrari. After seeing their true face as a company I don't think that I'd ever like to have anything with them. Once we escalated the issue, they could have taken care of the situation gracefully by pushing our order with priority and sending an apology. Putting us on top of the list for the next version of the 488 would have been a bonus to make us really happy.

Obviously they don't care at all about two clients and their reputation as a serious, well managed, publicly traded car company. But if you think about it, they only produce about 8000 cars per year. In the current economic cycle the market is crazy. But we all know that things change fast. One day you pay over price list, the next day the factory closes for a month or two due to lack of orders....I remember 2008 very well.

So can Ferrari afford so easily to loose 2 serial sports/supercar buyers, deal with a lawsuit and bad PR? After hearing this story, would you leave your Ferrari/Maserati at Jurgen Keusch for service in Vienna?

FYI, the dealer before him pulled the same Rubbish. He was also the dealer for Bentley and Aston in Vienna.

a friend had a deposit with them on an Aston Martin. Which ofcourse they didn't order. Aston uk totally  honored the contract and invited him for a fully paid ftrip to tour the factory and spec his car.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

    @koko

the dealer mentioned from you was responsible for:

Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce but NOT for Bentley!!

Bentley is well managed like Lamborghini, Bugatti & Ducati by ECVG, company of the Austrian Porsche Group

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Guess I confused Rolls with Bentkey. Thx for the correction kiss

    Re: Ferrari Scam

They announced the new dealer. He's the Stuttgart and Singen Ferrari dealer. Also has Lambo, Bentley and Aston.

I was told by my Austrian friends that he was already doing a lot of business with Austrian clients. Everyone spoke very highly of him. I personally met the son of the owner and GM briefly at some Ferrari event. Seemed like a nice guy.

    Re: Ferrari Scam

Makes Tesla's business model make a lot more sense where they don't have dealers and all stores are Tesla owned.
