Very nice! Love the classic wheels!

Does however not look like the default wife-spec, but your wife seems to have nice taste indecision

All the hype around the new colors clearly show that the Metallic colors are kind of out!

    Some Observations:

    1. I was not very taken by the grey color when I first saw it, but I don't mind it at all on this Turbo. I wonder if I would like it as much under normal exterior lighting. I love the glass roof. It provides a very nice contrast to the grey.
    2. The TTS looks classical with its white exterior and red interior, but once again Porsche seems color challenged, especially when matching colors. For me, there are simply too many colors together. White exterior, black roof, red interior and yellow brakes.

If I would order a new 991 Turbo S now, I would order a convertible in white but with a black interior and yellow stitching and of course with black painted wheels (not even sure if this is currently an option for the rims shown in the photo). The red interior, the silver rims...both don't really fit the black applications and the "cold" exterior color.

Or I would get a yellow car, also with black interior and yellow stitching and of course black painted wheels.

Actually, I think that the new tail lights and design elements fit the Turbo/Turbo S facelift much better than the Carrera. The Turbo/Turbo S needs to look a bit different and a bit more "nervous" (design).

I haven't listened to the new Turbo/Turbo S exhaust sound yet but if it would sound like the new facelifted Carrera sport exhaust, I would give the new Turbo S another shot. The reason of switching my 991.1 Turbo S for a 991.1 GTS was boredom. I just got bored with that boring and kind of disappointing sound of the Turbo S. For me, the sound of a car is almost as important as the performance.

Too elegant for my taste (silver rims and silver exhaust pipes) and a bit boring in the interior (red stitching would be highly recommendable for a Cab) but still the hell of a gift for your wife. Congratulations. Smiley Smiley

7:18 on the Ring without Cup tires is really fast.  I wonder if it's any fun to drive (compared to GT3RS which is slower, even with Cups)?

I dont know what it is, but there is something wrong with that rear. We already discussed that wing, but together with that bold exhausts it looks really not right. This new Turbo rear is looking already dated Smiley

The Turbo was always very fast and in the hands of a halfway talented driver faster than any GT3 or GT3 RS (considering that the same driver is driving all the cars). I loved the Turbo for it's easiness to be fast in it (of course it would still require an experienced driver at the wheel to hit the limit) but the sound was really the main reason I couldn't be really happy with this car. I hope they improved it but I doubt it (haven't heard it yet).

The facelifted Turbo S is really a fantastic car but if the sound is unchanged, I wouldn't want it. As a daily driver however, this car must be unbeatable.

But what is a 911 Turbo? Porsche would surely argue that it is very sporty, and also luxurious: it can be whatever you choose to see, and the colour you choose just helps tip the car towards your preferred "reading" of the Turbo.

Not sure if this is white or silver but like I said before, if I would get another Turbo S, it would be a white Turbo S cabriolet. Smiley

I did some calculations, a new Turbo S cabriolet would cost me around 230k EUR. Insane. Smiley This is almost 70k EUR more than my current 991.1 C4 GTS Cab costs. For 70k, I can get a well optioned Boxster S.

And 98% of your GTS is the same car. It is just some engine and body parts which additional material value will be probably 1000 bucks Smiley ... Marketing Genius!

Still not a fan of it. I think those dark plastic parts around the bumpers are obsolet and not "Porsche design". Porsche design stands for simplicity and form follows function. Those bold plastic pieces and this hideous wing is just the opposite of being simply elegant. For me this one looks much better - it is simple, elegant and yet sporty!

Unbelievable how much better the standard 911 convertible looks in this pic compared to this ugly turbo cab. Smiley

There's too much going on at the rear of the new turbo, the cab is even worse than the coupé in this respect... Smiley

Based on the feedback the Turbo is getting, it seems as though Porsche should reconsider their reported plans to tart up the 992 Turbo even further.

    Stefan,

problem with 991.2 Turbo S cabrio is optional Aerokit and painted lower rear part.

Here is standard 991.2 Turbo Coupe. Much better IMO.

If you won't suffer to much financially then the answer is upgrade.

    Otherwise,  no point in upgrade.

    EnglishManInNY:

Question: if you own a 991.1 TTS cab like me - does the 991.2 TTS represent a good enough reason to upgrade?

I'd say no. The real world performance gain in the, for you, relevant 0-100 mph speed range, is basically zero. There has been, according to a source, a slight improvement in the acceleration from standstill (the "lag" is gone...if your car has one...newer 991.1 TTS didn't have it anymore) but other than that, even sound is supposed to be the same.

So why bother getting the new one? They depreciate fast, like someone already said.

There are already a couple of 991.1 Turbo S for around 150k EUR in Germany, mostly with less than 20k km. These cars were around 200-205k EUR. 25% depreciation may not sound much but the new one hasn't even really hit the dealers/roads yet. The Cab seems to hold it's value a bit better but I may mistaken.

Why would you do that. You have already a fantastic car. It is not getting worse just there is a slightly better one on the market. I regret every single 911 I owned and sold. I wished to have every single car back. I would stick with an earlier one instead of the latest greatest. Being realistic - you just burn a lot of money for getting almost the same car again. And in couple of years, the older the better! Stick with it and buy another toy with the money you did safe!
