    What's the total torque (ICE+F&R electric) figure for the 918, for comparison? The article linked to above, which predicts 700 hp (600+100), also predicts 800 lb-ft of torque total.

    (It also predicts a shooting brake (confirmed, apparently), and rumors (unconfirmed) a coupe and cabriolet, the cab presumably based on the coupe(?).)

     

    Depends on which gear the car is in and at what speed. The most common quoted figure is 944lb-ft max, which is measured in 7th gear.

    , but honestly, I don't use very much of the TS power in the daily driving. 

    One could say that about any serious performance  saloon or sports car. You will ,however,miss the petrol car when you need that extra bit of performance and driving satisfaction that a diesel can never provide. Please don't do it Smiley.

    Why would you handicapped a performance car with such an engine? THat's called stupid.

    600HP 4.0L V8 Twin Turbo WITH hybrid would be the proper way. The hybrid will help lower the emission of the big engine while also adding performance, inline with the 918 and 919, the hybrid system is a power adder, not a power handicapper. 

    Those are tuff words for civilized conversation Smiley I mentioned V6 because I am not sure there is enough space left for electrical stuff with V8 under the hood. Also, knowing Porsche, there is no way you will get new Panamera Turbo S with more than 600 hp. Thats why I aimed on V6 + electric to get just around 600 hp that is much more realistic than crazy numbers like 650 hp or even 700 hp Smiley 

     

     

    If only for bragging rights and marketing purposes, comfortably over 600HP is a must for Panamera TS.

    Do they want to be the most expensive and least powerful in the segment?

    MBs, M5, RS6, S8 Plus, all have 600+ HP, not to mention 650HP CTS-V or 707HP Dodge Charger.

    I don't dislike this color. I think the wheels are completely wrong . This car needs the Turbo Design wheels (or other fancy wheels) to bring out the elegance that is inherent to this color (and interior)

    The new Panamera really pushes the right buttons for me as far as a car of this type goes. Inside and out, I'm a big fan so far.

    Wow, they really hit this one out of the park.  The new Panamera is positively breathtaking from all angles.  The interior design is spectacular as well.

    I could easily see myself in one of these as a daily.

    On all - black Panamera, rear maybe needs some kind of thin chrome stripe that we had on old Panamera`s rear.

    The new Panamera is a bigstep forward. I seldom saw such a big improvement on a model change.
    The only downside is the V6 engine on the 4S and that there is no weight reduction. 2070kg EG weight for the Turbo. The 4s is 105kg lighter, but still heavy. OK it's a big car. But I see no efforts to reduce weight.

    I am really looking forward to the 992, which i asume will get a similar cockpit. I really like it, also the new center console without the many old style buttons. kiss

    Now looking really up to date.
    Good job Porsche. Not like the disappointing 718.

    Smiley The Panamera is definitely an improvement but the 4S will have difficulties selling in my opinion. A V6 in s 100+k sedan? No way.

    People who have driven the new Audi SQ 7 should chime in, virtually identical engine.

    IMHO, based on my experience with the previous generation V8 S Diesel engine in the Cayenne, this wil be a great engine for the Panamera! It has fantastic torque, whch is what you need and feel in a DD, and sufficient top end power as well.

    If that's any help the base diesel in my Cayenne loaner wasn't bad at all... Of course no comparison with a Macan turbo since it has PDK but still acceptable.

    As a daily driver, the Diesel will be amazing. You don't need massive acceleration at speeds over 200 kph, you need massive torque and the Diesel delivers all you need.

    I wouldn't get a Diesel for different reasons, with that NOx discussion going on right now in Europe and especially in Germany but if you want a Diesel, the new one in the Panamera is certainly a highlight.

    Macan diesel too? After driving the base Cayenne diesel I really wonder what a Macan diesel S with PDK would be like if they can contain the weight. The petrol V6 turbo of the turbo could pull harder at high RPM and it feels a bit flat vs a sport car.

    Btw: A friend configures himself a Panamera 4S with the options he loves to have, no PCCB but Burmester.

    Price tag? Over 160k EUR. For a V6 Biturbo. He is waiting for the updated M5 now... angry
