    But it can never have the same gear ratios (without giving up ~50kph of top speed), because redline is 7,500 rpm instead of 9,000 rpm...

    Indeed it is. But, I was thinking about similar ratios where top speed of GTS would be in 7th gear rather then in 6th. GTS gearbox is a 6 speed with an overdrive, both manual and PDK.

    With GT3 gearing a GT4 would be a good match. Gearing for the GT3 is very close and quick.

    Had a chance to test drive new GT3(PDK-S) few days ago. Awesome car.

    But, more demanding then 991.2 GTS and not any faster on the autobahn. Friend who owns 991.1 GT3 RS, 991.2 GT3 and 991.2 GTS Coupe was very surprised with our test drive final outcome. His 991.1 GT3 RS ended on mobile.de as a consequence.

    Debatable , yes . Lots of parameter come into the equation . I did not look at what tire the GTS had ... and unsure about the '' quality '' of the drivers . 

    The GTS might be easier to drive , but the GT3 is not a difficult car . And once you grasp the aero work , It gives you an extra tool .  Also, how the chassis feels . Even if not faster , the GT3 has a chassis that feels much more connected to the track .

    very debatable outcome, maybe correct for sheer speed but not for 'feeling'. i am currently driving here in central italy on very bad and dissected roads. the other day i took a friend's 991.2 C4S out and felt as if it was bouncing around a lot while my GT3RS might feel a bit harsh but definitely more planted. it makes me almost as fast as the typical one or two seater italian pickup truck:::)))

    Have they ever been this close?

    No. Aside from track and if our view is objective  991.2 GT3 has no advantage over 991.2 GTS. 

    But, 90% of us are pretty subjective in our opinions...

    On track the difference between GTS and GT3 in the hands of ' normal ' people is huge . I witnessed that at Paul Richard in June and now two days ago in Mugello . GTS is good on paper , in public roads , in the hands of professionals ...... but it stays a Carrera on track in the hands of amateurs 

    I rather think that most amateurs who got themselves a Carrera GTS have the standard PZero tires on their cars and not the optional Corsa from the reviews. Smiley The PZero is a fantastic road tire but a couple of rounds on a track with hot temperatures and the tires are "done" for the day. Especially since I also assume that many drivers do not adapt tire pressures after a warming up round.

    Most certainly they had the P Zero . And yes, that could explain quite a lot . At Paul Richard and at Mugello temperature was around 35 degrees . 

    Still, at the end  a Carrera does not feel like a Gt3 even if as fast .  Like a Turbo , faster then an RS in amateur hands, but not the same feeling to drive at all .

    I agree its embarrassing behavior. But the difference in exhaust between the GT3 and GTS is very noticeable. The GT3 sounds much better.

    Awesome video. Not the cars. I miss Austria. I learned to waterski at that lake.  Thanks for sharing. 

    the GT3 sounds worlds apart. Can't blame them for getting on it since everyone around them was taking a video wishing they would do exactly that. Not really bad racing imho

    but it looks like it has an aftermarket body? The hood is different than stock and it's also much wider.
