Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

Always liked these. Nice, but very expensive.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

What wheels are those? I tried doing a search for BBS MM2 and didn't come up with anything.

Very lightweight magnesium wheels. Will decrease your acceleration, braking and track times, make your car consume less fuel and improve handling. All of this for an exorbitant price .

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

No..I'm not going to switch, I'm not. I'm sticking with the GT3 wheels. I'm still curious though...any additional info on these wheels will be appreciated such as where to get, etc.

And you're definitly right. Look at these. The pic is from 6speedonline but they only have this one.

I'd love to see them on a black turbo.

Whats exorbitant tranlate into? the currency of your choice .

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

They're made specially by BBS for Manthey in Germany. JZ Machtech supply in the UK, not sure who distributes Manthey in the US.

    Manthey MM2

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

So roughly in the range of $12K USD. Are magnesiums rims that much lighter than a structurally comparable uluminum rim?

ARE they lighter? My mountainbike is heavier than them .
Wouldn't really make much of a difference for the Turbo, I think. You already have forged wheels.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

I guess more to the point are they signicantly lighter than the stock Turbo forged rims? Can anyone quantify this difference?

Although forged, the 997tt OEM wheels are not very light; something like 23lbs. and 28lbs. for and aft.

GT3 seats and a roll cage? Looks freaking great with those wheels and the ceramic brakes.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

The MM2s remind me of the wheels used on the RS Spyder in the LeMans series.

    VERY COOL!

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

    .....

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

    They are certainly nice rims...wow.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

Wonder how long it would take to clean each opening x 4 wheels.

8.3 kg ( 18.3 lbs.) per wheel at front, 9.3 kg (20.5 lbs.) on the rear - they claim 12 kg (roughly 26 lbs.) of savings in total over the lightest 997 serial production wheel.

Now these are the first aftermarket wheels that really look good on the Turbo!

I know this car.... But when I saw him last time he did not have those rims yet.
He is a weight gainer freak !!
The inside of the car is completely empty to gain weight , he's got the GT3 996 bucket seats and other goodies done by Manthey ( suspensions... )

I love the wheels, but there are several other wheels available that weigh in close to those. Champion and Kinesis weigh roughly 20 and 21 lbs. and cost several thousand less.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

    Very nice rims...:-)

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

Any ideas where these wheels could be purchased in the US?

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

Think a Manthey dealer / stockist posts on 6speed, IIRC.

Re: Manthey / BBS MM2 now available in 19"

I heard about that too..do you remember his screen name?
