    I'm pretty sure the second place car was a VW Golf, so I wouldn't put too much weight into this kind of thing.

    Should also have thought that you would need some reading material for those long nights rocking newborns back to sleep.

    And a word of advice - change as many nappies as you can now because you won't want to do it when the diet moves to solids..

    Indeed I've now complaints changing them now, smells relatively fresh! Scoring as many manpoints now in order to use the credit when he starts eating carrots! Smiley

    Actually I can imagine since all the reviews I've seen so far, especially when it comes to comparisons are somewhat weird and not what I learned from my own experience. Everyone seems to love the R8 but when it comes to choosing a winner... Smiley

    In Austrian Auto Revue, they tested various cars on the Salzburgring. First place...991.2 Turbo S. Second place (before the R8 V10 Plus, which is at third place)...hold your breath, I'm not kidding...the Mercedes SL63 AMG. Seriously. The version limited to 250 kph. Smiley The SL63 AMG was, according to this comparison, even faster than the Nissan GT-R, which is impossible. Also weird: The weight of the car was "only" 100 kg higher than the R8 weight but the official Mercedes weight figure is 200 kg more. Maybe the two pages Mercedes advertisement in the Auto Revue right in the beginning of the magazine paid off. Smiley

    Seriously, it is almost impossible to take car reviews seriously nowadays because car journalists seem to have sometimes weird preferences or different opinions.

    The R8 is actually a very good example of how opinions can differ from one reviewer to the other. One praises the sharp and direct steering, the other one says it is indirect, weird and bad. Then one says the car is very neutral, the other one claims that it has lots of understeer. My personal opinion is: Most of them don't know how to drive it. If you look at the 991.2 Turbo S, Huracan and R8 comparison on Sport Auto (with the video!), you notice how close these cars are performance-wise, especially on the track.

    In conclusion, I think that all car journalists seem to love the 991.2 Turbo S (which in my humble opinion is an amazingly fast sports car but boring as hell Smiley if you use it as a weekend toy car, probably also the reason why many chose a GT3 RS instead, which is slower in real life but also much more fun to drive and enjoy) because every car enthusiast dreamt as a kid of a 911 Turbo and car journalists aren't much different. After the 911 Turbo S, car journalists love Ferraris. After that, it comes to personal preferences and sometimes even where the journalists are from. American car journalists often seem to like Japanese cars (not only talking about sports cars), while European car journalists seem to prefer European cars.

    911R really isn't that special a car. People glamoured over it simply because it is limited.

    I'd rather see the 570S wins it.

    For a fraction of the price, it is a P1-lite.
