    LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

Does anyone *cough*Kreso*cough* know the Nring time? I heard it will be published on the 22nd of this month, but i dont like waiting! and considering we knew the F430S time in advance, I was hoping the same for the LP560.

    anyone?

    Thanks,
    Nima

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

We tested the LP560-4 against the Ferarri Scuderia last week, and although not at the Nurburgring it was on Silverstone's GP circuit where we could understanably push them to the limit.

We experienced a few issues that will delay release of the video, but I suspect you will be surprised how quickly the LP560-4 is around a circuit. We were also comparing it against the new 997 GT2 and you would expect the 911 to walk all over the Lamborghini. All I will say for the time being is that the LP560-4 is surprisingly quick.

SportAuto already disclosed the Hockenheim lap times of all the cars you mention (NBR of LP560-4 to follow in about 2 weeks):

    GT2: 1.09,7
    Scuderia: 1.10,3
    LP560-4: 1.11,3
    Gallardo SL: 1.10,9

Thus, the Lambo is about 1s slower than the Scuderia and about 1.5s slower than the GT2 in Hockenheim.

Interesting. Our experiences were similar, except that the LP560-4 would have featured second in that list. Silverstone would have played to the engine strengths of the Lamborghini, which would partly explain why. We will publish the telemetry so you can take a look for yourself and see where the advantages were most evident.

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

cool i'd like to see the telemetry and such!

I'd expect the LP560 to do pretty well..

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

Gallardo has always been slept on. I keep telling people not to underestimate the chassis and engine. And now that Audi dropped in a slightly bigger engine, tuned the gearing a bit more, and dropped in the new rear suspesion from the R8 - I expected it to be a banger, but to compete closely with the Scud and GT2 is a big surprise.

So what happens when they release the LP560-2 Superleggera or something....

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

Kind of disappointing to learn that the Scuderia, being the track special ferrari, is slower than the "regular" Lambo.... Is this comparo going to be in next month's EVO?

That will be interesting to read

Sportauto uses the short track in Hockenheim. Indeed a faster track (full HHR or Silverstone etc.) should give the more powerful cars a small advantage.

Sadly, the next supertest-car will be the Lexus IS-F.

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

LP560-4 Supertest is delayed for October or November issue.

Why? Well, somebody was not happy at all with Hockenheim and Ring times so, new example of LP560-4 is on its way to HvS hands...

    Sorry...

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

    what was that Nring time?

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

You already made pretty good guess...

Ahh, so that's why we saw a yellow one tested before and a green one in the preview-video -> http://www.sportauto-online.de/multimedi...eo_time_frame=0

By "new example" do you mean a ringer?

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

No, just faster one... Faster on the track since LP560-4 is faster then 997 GT2 in 0-300km/h...

How annoying Who is interested in a Lexus IS-F...

Based on the infos provided by SportAuto to date, the LP560-4 seems to have a similar problem as the 997TT: variable power distribution (AWD) results in a rather unstable setup. Understeer switches to oversteer too suddenly. The driver lacks confidence in the car resulting in sub-optimal lap-times.

BTW, the LP560-4 should not be faster 0-300 than a GT2 in comparable test conditions... How should it? Similar gearing, 30hp more but power loss due to AWD, similar CWxA.

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

I also doubt the 560-4 is as fast as the 997 GT2, would be nice to see a comparison video.

It's supposed to be faster at around 34 seconds. If that's true, it means that the car is fast as hell.

The factory claims 33s for the GT2... My guess would be that both cars have pretty much identical 0-300 times if tested side by side (same conditions).

Our figures show that the LP560-4 is as fast as the GT2, I seem to remember they were pulling similar peak speeds around Silverstone and in fact Chris Harris suspected that the LP560-4 was actually quicker.

The car we tested was noticeably quicker than the cars we drove (in the US) at launch.

Please excuse my naive question, but is this way of working in line with journalist integrity?

It is a bit like recooking the dishes for a restaurant critic because the chef was not happy with his first assessment...

    Re: LP560 SportAuto Nring time?

If the car is not performing because of mechanical problem then it is IMHO Ok for magazine to test new example.

Agreed. When SA tested the Dodge Viper they did 0-200 kph in 15,5 or so. Then they got another testcar, the result is: 14,0 s.
