    Sport Exhaust F-360 (Tubi, Fuchs???)

    Hi,

what is the best sport exhaust system with good sound for a F-360 Tubi, Fuchs or something else.

    Thanks

    Turbo

Personally, I love the Capristo. Installed a level 2 (they come in 3 sound levels, with 3 being competition only) about 3 weeks ago, and it literally transformed the car. I have done back-to-back "grin tests" with Tubi-equipped 360s and everyone involved liked the Capristo better.

I thought F was now offering a "racing exhaust" option on 360....some version of Stradale-lite sound for the Spyder faithful. You may want to chk w/F dealers on latest....however, I also heard F dealers may only offer this on new 360s being built, so prior owners can't retrofit their cars into Stradale copycats....F astutely trying to protect Stradale resale values....

Do you have a coupe or Spider? It is my understanding the Capristo gives off a lot of heat and in a coupe you can feel it. Also, the Capristo is made by a manufacturer who does not specialize in exhaust system. It is a by product of the owner of a metal manufacturer who owned a Ferrari and decided to fabricate one for his car.

Tubi, worked with the F factory developing exhaust for all their models and the race team. Sound is very subjective

That has the advantage that no-one can claim that he has a long history of having got it wrong.

I had a Capristo (Level 3) and it was too loud for me. Have not tried the other two levels. I just put a Tubi in yesterday and I like it better so far. Much less (if absent) resonance under 2800 rpm. Much more comfortable to drive around town.

Coupe, non-Challenge grill. Heat has been a non-issue so far, even in very sporting driving in hot weather. Certainly haven't felt any heat in the cabin. I'll be at Laguna on Monday, I'll let the list know how that works out. Certainly sound quality is very subjective. A friend had a Tubi on his Spider and removed it because it was too "boomy" and bothered his wife. He installed a Capristo and finds it more livable and pleasant-sounding, and his wife likes it too. Haven't run into anyone personally who has heard them both and prefers the Tubi, altho that is certainly possible.

The Level 3 is really intended for competition only, altho I know some retailers are selling it as a street system. Level 2 is just about right for the street in my opinion, very nice "interesting" tone, with virtually no difference from stock (very quiet) at cruise speeds and revs.

Re: Sport Exhaust F-360 (Tubi, Fuchs???)

Capristo as well as Tubi seem to be very popular in the US, while in Germany Fuchs seems to be the most common aftermarket exhaust. Do you think that may change, now that Ferrari offers for the 360 (and surely will do so for future models) a CS exhaust as an option (which seems to be reasonably priced BTW)?

There are many who feel that the Tubi sounds better than the new sport exhaust. However, one major problem is the warranty issue. No need to worry if the exhaust is factory.

This much I know, when I order my new 430 it will come with the sport exhaust.

You are articulating exactly what I was thinking!

Re: Sport Exhaust F-360 (Tubi, Fuchs???)

I had a Capristo (LC Racing) and it was tooloud and boomy. Changed to a Tubi and am much happier. Smoother sound and less resonance and boominess than Capristo.

Which Capristo? Sounds like you might have had a Level 3. I think is probably very little difference in sound level between a Capristo and Tubi, although most Tubi owners I know complain of "boominess" with their exhaust, and I have noticed nothing of the kind with my Level 2 Capristo. I just ran a track day at Laguna with 92dB limit and had no problem, and they black-flagged a Tubi-equipped 360 for excessive noise. Go figure.

Gary, any heat issues with the Capristo?
