Thinking to trade in my Cayenne Turbo for a 2006

    Guys,
i was thinking. with all this vibration issues ive been having (which are driving me up the wall) and the possibility of getting the Turbo upgrade and changing my rims to accomadate the rims i might as well wait for the 2006 loaded with the turbo upgrade and possible the LED lights people talking about and some modifications instead of adding each option as it comes in to tequipment. what do you guys think?

Well, it really depends on how much money you're willing to loose. Regarding the vibration issue: what does your dealer say? What does Porsche say? If there is really an unusual vibration, you shouldn't accept it.
Regarding the "2006" Cayenne Turbo you mentioned: I guess you're talking about summer 2006 and not MY 2006 which would be summer this year (2005). Turbo upgrades? If you're waiting for the 500 HP powerkit to be standard on the facelifted Cayenne Turbo...bad luck, this ain't gonna happen. If you want a moderate power upgrade to around 475 HP...this might happen. And the facelifted Cayenne Turbo might get a bigger brake but I'm not sure it's gonna be the powerkit brake. LED rear lights and slightly modified/differently shapped frontlights? Yes, probably. And maybe a slightly improved interior but not many changes as far as I heard.

To be honest, I would let your dealer/Porsche have the vibration fixed and wait for the updates on the Cayenne facelift. More detailled infos/rumours should surface around early 2006. I'm not 100% sure that the facelift comes in summer 2006 but all rumours I heard indicate this.

Re: Thinking to trade in my Cayenne Turbo for a 2006

Hehe....Just took delivery of a C Turbo 05, and right out of the block I also felt the vibrations. Called up the dealer he told me it needed to come in for some re-adjustment as it had been sitting there for a few weeks whilst I was on vacation. He said it would take no more than 2 hours.

Regarding the facelift in 06...That's another 1.5 years away - and am sure the differences will be so minor, that to the untrained eye - it will look exactly the same! Since when have Porsche strayed far from their original concepts?

Personally, I will wait for the upgrades to come in and then retrofit them if I like them. Nothing to worry about now - that's for sure.

    P.s...what a car!

Re: Thinking to trade in my Cayenne Turbo for a 2006

    RC,
Thanks for your feedback. Ive taken my car in 5 different times on this vibration issue. They tell me its "normal operating procedure" Im just sick of this, i dont know what else to do. Sometimes i say let me just ignore it but it just haunts me everytime i drive the car. The brake discs were cracked at 10000 Kms they made me replace them on my account saying its due to hard braking on my part. although i havent done any hard braking. They said we had to replace the front brake discs and rear brake pads and charged me 1000 dollars. it did solve my vibration issues while braking but i still think it wasnt my fault. I just love driving the turbo but i dont know how long i can take this vibration issue at 150 Km/h. but i have to agree with Mish's statement above "What a Car " Thats what i think everytime i drive my car. Was thinking of writing a letter to porsche ag in germany about my issues, any idea where and to whom i should direct my "issues"
    Thanks
