    Going back to the original post, dont you guys think the x50 996TT was pretty close for having 40hp LESS ?..and not having paddle shift.

    I like them both, Im just pointing that out though.

    The 996tts's power is very conservative. I'm guessing it's closer to 470hp. As for the paddle shift, it's only faster by a few tenths. Being beaten by 1.5 sec. on a short track is a shellacking.

    Looks like there is a reason for the 1.5sec difference, the 996TTS tested didn't have the X73 sport suspension, it just had the stock 996TT suspension
    (I though the X73 was standard on the 996TTS but it isn't, big difference between the stock one and X73).

    Amazing how almost no recent test of 996TT or 996TTS includes X73 ....roughly how much faster is X73 in timed settings?....or does X73 just materially increase "perceived" speed, not actual speeds? Also, any sense on whether this car had the optional LSD....how big a factor could LSD be?

    oddly enough that was only a marginally higher diff of spanking the CGT put on the Enzo on a sub 1 mile/sub 60 sec track when tested on the same day by AMS.

    yep, because it can be so tough learning to flick your fingers for an automatic heel/toe

    Yes, those things are really darn complicated...

    They should've tested the car with the X73 and LSD...
    Also, the F430 they tested may have been "specially taken care of" by the factory.
