    Joost:

    Thanks Lars,
What I meant is the width of the 3rd brake light; it used to be narrower than the engine vents, now it seems to span the entire width. This led me to the question that this is maybe the distinction between the RWD and 4WD models? (so, narrow brake lights in the vent for the C2 and wide brake lights in the vent for the C4?

Ah - ok, got it! I have no glue how they will solve this. But having a wide break light and still that light stripe on the 4WD this would be a bit to much lightning. So maybe the 4WD will not have any brake light up there at all, just only down. Or maybe the car on the picture is a 4WD as you are saying and the stripe is gone? Interesting question actually.

Agree - but you dont have to use it! Smiley

Anyway - it is very comfortable now to be operated electically but on the other side, the one in the 997 had the much nicer shape.

And - it is weird that they still have to do those windshields that they couldnt come up with any other invisible solution.... any rear spoiler lips should do the same trick.... it looks a bit like 1990!

Really like how the rear wiper (at least in this picture) nearly aligns with the black seam om the roof. Not fond of the wiper in itself though.

Yet another point for Porsche-owning OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) sufferers to worry about.   Smiley I can see the service advisor and shop guys roll their eyes when owner brings it in to " align " the wiper ...except it as well as most wipers sit at sl different rest positions after each use ....so

Yup...I can see rolling of eyes throughout the service bays when a car is brought in for rear wiper " alignment " ....of course, the resting position changes by a  mm or two this way or that after each usage ...so .....

I feel that the nicest design element of the front of the  991.1 was the extension of the DRLs beyond the air intake below it , visually widening the car , but many took an opposing view ...Porsche must have listened so ..that is now  gone in the 991.2 , as they have laterally  " extended " the air intake below to be the same width of the lights by adding an ugly " close out panel " of a vertical chunk of dull 1970s - looking ABS matte plastic

Yeah, it is kind of annoying, isn't it?
I am in the camp of people who hated the Gepetto Mustache from day one, especially since it was clearly a deliberate breaking of the design lines, just to be able to "fix" it in a later stage with the facelift.
However, rather than to solve it in the "predictable" way (just shifting the lights inboard), which yields a pretty awesome front, they just HAD to do something differently, thus creating a new design flaw with the ungodly black plasticSmiley

Well, in the end, what always sticks that these details stick out like a sore thumb when you look at the pictures, but in reality the cars just look great.

They trimmed the barber shop quintet mustaches but added urban- cool  black " chin strap " beards

The black vent grill - it's nice to come back to tradition! All this thx to 911 (991) 50th Anniversary Edition! in 50th we had a silver version of grill but now it reminds me 993. Welcome back black vent grill!!!

3 cars are on sculpture - the second should be a white 1989 911 Carrera - I have seen it at Porsche Classic two weeks ago.

    What's the third car? 918?

The name "Turbo" has become part of the traditional Porsche nomenclature indicating the fastest model. That other engines might be turbocharged is not relevant to the meaning of this model designation..

It is like the "i" for BMW (e.g. 640i) that started as an indication of a fuel injected engine back in the 60s-80s but has stayed on although all engines use FI now.

What do You thing guys about exhausts tips? Do they done right putting them in the middle? Does this mean that there will be no dual exhaust tips (just like in 997.1; 997.2; 991.1 on for instance Carrera S and Carrera 4S) on each party? mail

I can't imagine  dual exhaust tips in the middle on Carrera - it will be the same just like Corvette C6??yes

    NEW 911 Carrera S ???

PS. Have You got photos the front of this beautiful white Carrera?Smiley

Re: 991.2 and future models Thread Closed

Please tell me they ran electric and controls to those cars so that they can turn the lights on at night...

Re: 991.2 and future models Thread Closed

Glad they're doing away with the dual tips. This nonfunctional BS was getting tiring, and it makes us look like ricers, since people in-the-know know what is behind the fake tips.

I agree, quad exhausts are so last century

    Even Golfs have them now.

I agree - I think the cosmetics are a significant improvement.  No comment on the mechanicals til I drive it (but I am skeptical)...
