    Nearly finished

    Re: Teaser :)

Those look like RT12 spoilers and what exhaust tips are those?

    Re: Teaser :)

Wow...lookin' good. Can't wait to see the final.

Lower part of the Rt12 spoiler, upper part is still in the paint shop
Exhaust is also from Ruf, tips are custom made (by Ruf) to my own specifications.

I surely hope that you have balanced the front aero with the changes in the rear, and tested those in a wind tunnel using an aero specialist.

It never ceases to amaze me how amateurs summarily dismiss competent factory engineering, substituting their "for looks" designs.

    Re: Teaser :)

Looks great! You may not even need the upper portion of the spoiler anymore, based on how it looks now!

You may want to cease amazement.

Ruf is not an amateur outfit:

    Re: Teaser :)

Very nice, will be less "floppy" which is good:

    Re: Teaser :)

Somebody posted picture of a Ruf car in one of the forums. It is FANTASTIC looking. Congrats and I'm waiting for picture of the final product!

    Re: Teaser :)

i like very much... cerrera RS tail duck anyone? looks great! cant wait to see more pics buddy!!

The OP did not say he had a full Ruf package.

P.S. I heard from mods that you were going to refrain to reply to my posts with the sole intention to appear smart and act rude. Guess not.

    Re: Teaser :)

Good times ahead keep us posted.

    Re: Teaser :)

Rami: How is the Ruf exhaust note? Very loud?

    Re: Teaser :)

That is very neat, I hope the front end looks just as good.

Adias, he is going to use a GT2 front bumper, which works even better than the Ruf front bumper. This means the car is actually fully balanced.

Surely one can't make definative statements like this ! The GT2 front end works perfectly with the (big) GT2 rear spoiler but who knows how the aerodynamic balance of the car will be when combined with the Ruf rear spoiler ?

The RT12 which SA put in the wind tunnel hardly had the best aerodynamics ever seen - from memory was it about 9kg lift front and some (maybe 12kg) downforce rear @ 200kph ? Not quite as good as a stock 997tt and nothing like the superb balance of the 997GT2 9kg front/29kg rear @200kph !

Hey - I am being slightly hipocritical since I have a mish mash of 993tt turbo S rear spoiler front with FVD Gt2 lip front which is factory untested, but I am very aware of that and will be (very tentatively) carrying out my own high speed tests

    Re: Teaser :)

    MORE PLEASE!!!!!!!!

LoL! Looking goo so far Rami. Dont leave us hanging too long!

    Re: Teaser :)

Hey, I just realized didnt you originally order a Basalt Turbo Cab? This one doesnt look Basalt.

    Re: Teaser :)

If I am not wrong Rami's new 997 Turbo Cabrio is Atlas Grey with Natural Leather Dark Grey...

    Re: Teaser :)

let's wait for the final stage car!

    Yes, Mee Too.

I'm very curious about wing-o-plasty options.

Darn it that wing-ectomy doesn't appear too smart.

Unfortunately wing-augmentation won't fit my personality type.

Those darn wings! Doncha just love 'em?

The GT2 has 29 kg of downforce at the rear and, compared to the 34 kg of downforce, measured with the Rt12. The Rt12 on the other hand has 11 kg of lift at the front, so the GT2 nose would still be a great match, or should I say better than the Ruf nose.

Yes I thought your thinking would be along those lines, that is very logical -but (so I am told ) it doesn't work like that, the chief engineer at Techart was explaining to me at Essen Motorshow how the rear spoiler (and its angulation) effects the amount of lift at the front - Aerodynamic balance seems almost a "black art" one which Porsche seem to be very good at !
Like I said I am also in the realms of DIY aerodynamics so I won't be throwing stones, but be careful out there if you are trying to drive very fast AND go around corners with "mix & match" aerodynamics

Point taken. What you have said Is actually stated in the Sport Auto article about the Rt12, but even with a marginal difference in rear downforce the GT2 still has much more downforce in the front. However, you are right and it would be very prudent to test such a setup before attempting to break any high-speed records between Frankfurt and Cologne .

It mentioned this in the article ? I wish I could read German instead of just looking at the pictures and numbers like an imbecile
It is so hard to decipher the marketing BS (or wishful thinking) from fact and those SA aero tests do seem to give the consumer some clarity...
For "data watching anoraks" like myself they seem to reveal all sorts of anomolies -like they measured the Cd of the CGT at 0.37 which is way different from the factory 0.39. The 997tt was measured at 0.29 which was what the factory originally announced then recently it seems to have changed in all their marketing blurb to 0.31

Can't help you with marketing - I'm allergic to it . Sport Auto tests are a treasure trove of data about a vehicle (although the italian magazine Automobilismo is also useful in the sense that it measures the crank and wheel horsepower of each vehicle they test).

Anyhow, I guess the safest thing for a 997TT owner to do would be to just switch to the GT2 nose and rear decklid w/ wing and be done with it .

    Re: Teaser :)

I'm gonna ignore the downforce comments with this exception: the car has been tested at high speed already and will be tested again when the conversion is completed. Hopefully this will answer your questions

I haven't heard the exhaust yet Alcyon. Hopefully I will find out this weekend

Kreso is correct Stradale ... and actually so were you
I initially ordered the car in triple black but I just couldn't let go of Atlas Grey. The interior is natural dark grey. I liked Cocoa better but I found the Atlas/Cocoa combo too risky for a cab Natural Dark Grey is the safer choice. Still very nice though. Goes really well with Atlas Grey.

MMD, I hear you man My rear hood/wing is actually custom made. It may LOOK like the Rt12 wing but it isn't. I had some minor issues with the original design and I wanted that fixed. "We will make it happen for you" Ruf said

So, Rami, did you opt for the 3.8 650 PS engine?

    Re: Teaser :)

    I sure did Crash
