Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

The 3D configurator requires a third party plug in. That is unacceptable in this day and age. I have never used it.

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

FWIW, I thought long and hard regarding first LED's and second black xenon and concluded both would not fit a white GT3. I will rarely if ever drive my GT3 at night so quality of lighting would not be an issue. Also, I determined like Macca, that with LED's the front end looks longer upsetting the styling of the car.

The black Porsche headlights on a white exterior make the car look Pandish. Would not work at least for me. However, all white taillights could work and I am still debating the issue. On the configurator they look great. I suppose I could always put them on after delivery if I am so inclined.

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

so my first Turbo S over the weekend. Remain a bit divide on the looks. I have to say the wheels looked huge, almost SUV like.

    RC,

Is there some kind of delay on the Turbo / Turbo S too ? Talked to one of the salesman and he told me the turbo has been pushed back with the GT3, what's the story ?

When I got an update from my dealer he told me the 991 Turbo(S) is also delayed. Unfortunately he did not have more  details why. Smiley

What's happening with Porsche? Has this happened before?

Hello RC and everybody , nice car RC is stunning , now i will build my 991 turbo s .

RC what is you favorite exterior color after the agate gray color can you give me two colors ?

what do you think of the color GT silver on 991 turbo s ?

i am puzzled between white , rhodium silver and GT silver  and for interior black with red espresso with cognac   or espresso natural .

    anyone can help me

    Thanks,

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

I think this really is a matter of taste. You should order what YOU like, not what other people like, unless those other people are paying for it ;)

All three exterior colors you mention look good on the 991. The difference between those two silver colors is that Rhodium has a blue hue, where GT-silver is slightly darker, has more color depth and has no blue hue.

Same goes for the interior, although that also depends on the exterior color IMO? Espresso doesn't suit the Rhodium very well, so that would be a better combination with Black-Red. GT-silver and white look very good with Espresso and Espresso-Cognac.

10 different people will give you 10 different opinions and in the end it is still you that needs to decide what you like most. Best advice is to go to a dealership or dealerships where you can see the various options in person. There is nothing more personal than taste and preference.

Suzy or anybody , if you were in my place what color you will choose ?

    Thanks,

When in doubt about configurations - ask her without regret.

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

Thank you guys! ;)  Not too much praise please. i'm nothing more than just another Porsche enthusiast, like so many people here.

    @Batista_80:

GT-silver is a beautiful color, with different nuances in different lighting. The paint is more expensive, but it also looks more expensive in some way. It really has a lot of depth.

Which would I prefer? From these three colors you mention, I would probably go for GT-silver. Rhodium is very nice, but many, many people are ordering this color right now (if I'm correctly informed, it seems to be the new black), so the GT-silver is more special and also looks that way.  But you can't really go wrong with either of the three.

    Thanks,

GT Silver is my favourite silver ever offered by Porsche. It has no strong undertones, that dilute the silver effect.

It is quite pure silver in sunlight. When in the shade or when it gets dark, the grey undertones are more apparent but it is still a silver.

For a 991 Turbo(S) personally I would choose the GT Silver. This is really a beautiful color IMHO. Sporty and classy! kiss

I would choose GT Silver if I was going for a luxury look and I'd choose White if I was going for a sporty look... but like others have said it's all a matter of personal preference.  They are all great!  :)

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

    GT silver all the way.

Have it on my 997tt (in the avatar). Simply stunning in all lights.

If i was speccing a 991tts i would struggle to not get it again in GT silver

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

....whereas I'd go Basalt Black. To my eye the Turbo and Turbo S more so) is a bit bling. A bit chintzy. I'm not a fan of the diamond cut wheels (hated these on 997 TT almost as much as the carrera S lobster wheels) and the front lip just looks too much compared to the simple lines of the standard car. I actually prefer the rear of the C4S to the Turbo.

Black tones this all down and presents an impression of menace. If you must go for a brown interior, the slight gold flecks in the paint will harmonize well IMO.

Thank you all for advice to choose the color .  Well , you all with GT silver color .... So what do you suggest from interior colors combine with exterior GT silver color 991 turbo s , carrera red , espresso natural leather or two ton bi color black with red .

    Thanks,

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

more pictures in GT silver PLZz !!!

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

Are you going for sporty or luxury?  I'd say either Cognac/Espresso, Espresso, Black/Luxor, or Black.

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

Oh and I suppose Black/Carrera Red could go with GT Silver too...

Re: 991 Turbo S - Short Driving Report (owner)

I have chosen white exterior and red-black bicolor interior.
