Don't forget to run it in properly, I know the temptation is big, especially since you have only two days to drive it but just be careful and do not be tempted. Smiley  Smiley

Woah, I love the white/black! Looking good whoopsy! Are you getting anxious yet for yours to arrive, or are you content with your other toys at the moment?

To be honest, I am more anxious in waiting for the RS than I did for the 918.

I drove the 918 before delivery so I know what to expect. Not so for the RS.

The head tech took the RS out for a test drive as part of PDI and he said it's night and day compared with the regular GT3, his opinion is that it's a no brainer to go from the GT3 to the GT3RS. I reminded him that allocations is the problem.

My head tech drives home in an Audi Diesel, so I wouldn't really trust his judgement when he tells he how great a car drives...or not. He still isn't over my decision to switch the Turbo S with a C4 GTS Cab, so... Smiley Smiley

If I go by normal Porsche option pricing

-Bigger set of wheels and tires ~$10000

-Carbon fiber hood and engine cover ~$8000

    -Standard LWB ~$8000

    -Magnesium roof ~$5000

-Wider Turbo body, don't really have a number as it's a mass produced item for regular production, but let's say ~$5000

Not even trying and most of the $50,000 is gone, and I haven't even started on the engine and the suspension bits.

Quite a lot of the exterior and mechanical bits are different between the GT3 and the GT3RS, so for that extra $50k it's a no brainer.

Especially when you compared how much McLaren charges for a P1 over a 12C.

Now there's a divisive topic smiley

My GT3-based take: only use manual in order to stop it lugging around at low revs.  Definitely no stress whatsoever til the oil is warm.  Change gear a lot both on and off the throttle (engine braking).  Gradually increase the rev range you use over the first 1500km or so.  I had it up to 7k or so after 1000km but waited til 1800km til it got the full 9K indecision

Of course there's another school of thought which states: launch-control off the forecourt.. (a.k.a. 'drive it like you stole it').  I have a little too much mechanical sympathy for that.

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Dario, while you don't have the car yet, I can give you the break in ritual for you to memorize first haha.

under 5k revs for the 1st 500km. Then add 500 revs for each 100km. But stay under 7k revs until after 1500km.

this is straight from someone that matters within the GT3RS program. :)

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

If you go to and do the Zeipzig factory collection and driver experience in the 991 GT3RS as a friend of mine recently did you will find all 10 or so of the factory RS there (mostly in Salmon) are run on the track from 500km. His car had 1600 km on it. When I picked up my 991 GT3 in dec 2013 the factory told me to make sure the engine was warm before driving above 5000 rpm, to vary the revs as much as possible but after the 1st tank of Benzine drive it however normally would. I did (although I did 800km before repeatedly getting into the 8000-9000 rpm band) and never had any issues with that engine. However they have me a new engine 6 months later with a large $$$ cheque (my car was Swiss delivered, so Swiss compensation). For that engine I had less patience and went to the track at 600km and used the full 9000 rpm repeatedly. There were two other 991 GT3 owners with me with new engines done 600 or less Km. None of them have had any issues with their engine since. Life is too short to wait 3000km to use the full RPM. Some people in this world will only do 10,000km in their ownership, imagine driving 1/3 of that like a grandmother?

Of interest my friend has plenty of 991 GT3 track experience (has owned his since early 2014) and said the RS turns in quicker and that you feel the aero working at speed. He was 1.0s quicker on the track (3.7km) than when he did it with the 991 GT3 in 2014. Otherwise he said it felt like a very similar package (sound, ride compliance, gearbox etc).

    Black wheels - Black headlights

    Satin: Standard PDLS

for the wheel color i hate black wheels on the 991 RS, i'm sure going for platinum standard color

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Do you have a confirmed pts allocation? The 3 extra colours including black and miami blue are only available to those with confirmed pts allocation unfortunately. otherwise it's the standard colours.

I will get my car in UV which will not be produced after November anymore. My final build will be decided August 8, still not sure about the seats and wheel colour. build date is week 40. My dealer has already delivered 3 cars to customers.
