    GT2RS remains a 911.

it is for Porsche fanatics as us, not for the crowd. smiley

A lot of ''investors'' will quickly understand how painful it is to bet that amount on this type of car. I can see a nice Macca depreciating curve for this one...angry

Currently, US dealers sell allocations among themselves between $100k-150k.

    600 cars for N.America.

I fully understand why - a GT2 and also a GT2RS is a fairly normal car. It is just super efficient and precise. But underwhelming to most people. I still like these products. But a 720s (as an example) feels much (!) more special than a GT2RS Smiley

    well I own a GT2RS 997 and have driven a 720 - and I totally disagree....Smiley

The 997GT2RS on the track is wonderful. On the Autobahn it is also great. But then: the rest of the time the car is just super efficient and precise. I also like this (have driven more than 100.000km in GT2 models, about 60.000 in the GT2RS). However, to most people these cars are just underwhelming (acceleration aside) Smiley The 720s just feels much more special even when driven at moderate speeds in normal situations.

No, the major elements are probably: design (interior as well), steering feel/precision (even better than GT2RS), sound, the feeling of riding a bullet Smiley

The 997GT2RS will always be special. Also, this car was produced in small numbers (thinking of the 991 GT2RS in comparison...)

My dealer has a white 997 GT2 listed for $267,000. heart

They also have a beautiful red 1997( ?) 911 Spyder for $287,000 powered by a 221hp engine. I get nostalgia but this is insane.

By the way, this Porsche is worth many millions and has 40 hp Smiley

That photograph brings back wonderful memories.

I had the opportunity about twenty years ago to sit in Porsche No. 1, when it made its appearance at the Boxster debut at Scottsdale Princess.  Also met Dr. Porsche briefly too. He was quite enthusiastic on going off-road in the desert.

I hope your kid doesn't destroy it in a second...

I had a very nice Porsche car collection (around 20 smaller cars, special editions, every nice) and my son started playing with it (my wife thought this is no big deal, so she let him) when he was 2 or so... Well, none of the cars is left. Smiley

Well, what can I say, I had 7 cars back to 70's, in which the volvo one was the perfect ,beautiful one and he destroyed all of them ( when he was 2)...,and yes, my wife never consider these things are VERY important Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Same here mail  I had several F1 cars , dating back from collecting since the mid 80's . My wife let the kids play with them ..... I still have them but with missing front wings, mirrors , back spoiler half broken off etc......  Oh well, not the only thing kids reduced to near garbage , the worst is with some if the nice painting that ended up on the floor and now have bruises, making them loose most of their value  surprise
