    Re: 991 GT3 RS

    JR-550:

We also drove the GT3RS on ice, was great!. But have to admit the 911 Turbo are easier to put into a drift compared to the GT3RS. At the Ice Force S we also drove the cupcar on ice this is really something else. Yes Whoopsy also the Cayman 718 was there. This was a complete disaster, they put tires with only 2 mm spikes on. With these tires the car was really undriveable on ice. Even the instructors could not get it to work. Later I was informed that they did not run the Cayman's on 5 mm spikes because the ice was to thin?. Bye the way on the Panamera Turbo's we had engine failures (error: reduced power) looks like the new Panamera's were not (yet) for drifting. The engine failure happened after a few laps, on 2 cars.

    Ice-ForceS 13012017 0316.jpg.jpg

    Ice-ForceS 13012017 0374.jpg.jpg

Cup car had immense grip!, Really hard to get it sideways.

Last year they put the shortest spikes on the new C2S, that car was impossible to drive too, short spike combined with the on/off nature of the boost and rear wheel drive is a really bad combination.

Did you guys get hot laps in the Cup car?  Or even the 918? (they should have 2 of those in the garage)

I am scheduled to go to Ice Force during the week of Feb 20th, can't wait seeing those pcs and reading your report...

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Yep in Ice Force S you drive yourself in the cupcar and also some hot laps in the 918. Amazing car. Have fun Oli

Gnil, you really should sign up to the Ice Force events in Finland!

Those RSs runs on studded tires, unbelievable traction but also very easy to drift. The car handles soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice!

It is on my  '' to do '' list .  The timing is always bad for me . Maybe in one of the coming years .

Drifting like that in a safe environment  must also get to know your RS so much more , to control it better at ( or over ) the limit !

The courses run from January to March, basically 2 1/2 months, come on, you can't find 5 days in between to go? Smiley

Most unpractical time of the year for me , but If you manage to have a space for me in the 918 event I'm sure I' ll find the 5 days Smiley

They should also have Turbo/Turbo S, and the new 718 I believed. The Turbo/Turbo S are a hoot, it's almost like cheating, so balanced on ice, and enough power to break traction at ease to start the drifts.

This is music to my ears Smiley

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

I just checked the second hand market for the RS and the GT3 in Switzerland .

    34 GT3 RS and 15 GT3  for sale

The market is  flooded now that we are getting closer to the new season .

Prices of   RS  with around 10'000 to 14'000 km are now slightly under official  MSRP

New cars slightly above  , or at MSRP

Still a few crazy prices for bran new cars with special colors .

GT3' s are about 15% under official MSRP

There are three R 's for sale between 500 and over 600k  . Stupid !

When and if it get's confirmed that there is no 991.2 GT3 RS Smiley But I also think we are hitting a low for a while .

Only ' problem ' is the huge amount of cars on the market . All these sellers just wanted  to make money !

13 GT4, 2 Clubsport. Prices are at or above Swiss MSRP.

I had an offer for mine above what I paid. But not selling. Yet indecision

What does it matter , they are bought and sold in Switzerland  .

If you want precisions,  official MSRP is higher but when you buy the car you get what they call the '' euro bonus '' , an automatic discount on the car according to the Euro/Swiss frank exchange rate

apparently there was too much speculation on the GT3RS. i cannot imagine that real owners dump the .1RS for the .2GT3.

Relatively so, but the price when converted to EUR is higher than most countries, then you've got to pay VAT..

Switzerland is not EU. Used cars also "maintain" VAT (as a deductible) only if they were registered to a company before. Not very likely with many used GT3 RS.

They can  , but not with ease . Lots of bureaucracy  to make it a pain in the ass .

Not when you consider a 911R is more than double (local dealer asking $600k)
