Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

I have sold my beloved E92 M3 last weekend. I love that car so much that only car I would exchange it for is 430 Scuderia or 458 italia, my long time favorite cars. Unfortunately, There are only 6 Scuderia in Turkey and the asking prices are high. Actually, the cars aren't worth the asking prices. They are not as high as 458 italia price.

So once I understand that I won't be able to buy an used Scud with a reasonable price, I contacted my ex-German Business Partner and put an order through him from a German Ferrari Dealer. I want to have Sept. built car in case Ferrari may make more changes on the car as it did Sept. 11. Again, I'll be importing the car to Turkey like I did with my Audi TTS and E92 M3.

So here is the Spec of my car that I haven't confirmed yet. I'll be visitting the Factory at the end of May. I will finalize my order there, in terms of color combinations. Here is my unconfirmed order:

    458 Italia Coupe MY13

    Grigio titanio

Standart Rims (I'll have them painted in dark metalik shadow color)

    Yellow Caliper (CALY)

    Scuderia Shields (LOGO)

Carbon Fiber Sport Seats (RSCH) in Chiccolate - not 100% sure (cuoio is the other option)

    Alcantara/Leather (DAAL)

    Painted Dash (DSH5)

    Painted Steering Wheel (STW1)

    Nero Carpet

    Carbonfiber Driving Zone (CIDL)

    Carbon Fiber Tunnel (CILR)

    Yellow Rev Counter (RPMY)

Grigio Scuro Special Stiching (STC2) - not 100% sure (black is the other option)

    Auto dimming interior Mirror (MIR1)

    Rear Parking Sensor (PARK)

    Tyre Pressure/temperature sensor (TPM0)

I'll ask to have Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires with the car.

That's it. German list price of the car is just under 183K Euro without V.A.T.

V8 Mid engine Ferraris are always my favorite/dream cars since F355, hence my nick name suggest. I have been so passionate for V8 mid-engine line up of Ferrari. For me, Lambo, Aston Martin, Maserati, Mclaren don't even come close. I have huge desire especially for 430 Scuderia and 458 italia. So I can easily say that "the dream finally comes true" Smiley

I'm buying this car as a hobby/joy car. I see it as a yacht. Even the waiting of the car is not agony for me. It is a joy. Smiley

Very nice car, many congrats. Smiley

In grigio titanio the 458 will look really nice, cioccolato will fit perfectly with this exterior colour, I would prefer it over cuoio (with which you can't go wrong as well).

Have in mind that the standard wheels (great looking in dark shadow finish) are not directional, so you get four identical rims which will lead to a different visual appearance left side/right side of the car.

And try to get a decent discount BTW. Smiley

Re: Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

Congratulations! Have you considered the sport carbon fibre package (CRPK)  - that makes more sense given your other carbon bits and looks spectacular.

Re: Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

Fantastic upgrade, if your car purchasing history is anything to go by, I've got a bright future ahead as well. smiley

Congrats! My only concern would be a possible 458 Scuderia in the pipeline?

Re: Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

You know I live vicariously through your car choices and configurations. M3 and now a perfectly specked 458, you're living both our dreams my friend. I'd stick with cioccolato for the interior, I confugired one just with that color in the configuration the other day exactly the same spec but with grigio silverstone.

    Many congrats !! wink

    Thank you Stefan.

I thought left and right wheels are different because of the directional design Smiley Anyway, I don't like the 5-Thin spokes sports rims design.

I was offered 3% discount. How much should I aim for?

At first I was going to have CRPK. But the dash trim is already 3D and when it is carbon it stands out too much, especially on lighter color dash, IMO. Besides, standart titanium trim color matches perfectly with the exterior color of the car and the scuro stiching. Finally when I import the car to Turkey, I'll have to pay 172% tax over German netto price SmileySmiley

    Thank you Porker.

458 Scuderia is in the pipeline but it will be more expensive and IMO, 458 is on the limit in terms of both sportiness and comfort. 458 Scuderia might be too sportive and more importantly much more expensive. As long as I have the bucket seats (I have seat fetish) I prefer to have decent mats, isolation, leather, and comfort in my car. If I like the visual upgrades on the new Scuderia, later I might want to adopt them to my car .

I was 100% sure that you will like my spec. Which stiching did you choose? ;)

I also like silverstone but when there is not enough light, the color looks dull and dark. Doesn't show the lines/curves of the 458 well.

I chose the white stitching because it looked better on the online configurator but in real life I'd definitely choose a light silver or gray stitching.

Re: Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

CONGRATULATIONS pride!!! What an upgrade!!! It's a very classy spec you have chosen, great choice!

Re: Bye Bye M3, Welcome 458 İtalia

    Congrats Onur,

Very nice specs. BUT, I would go for Chrome Shadow standard rims(honestly, I would order Grigio Ferro Sport rims). They look very nice(Stefan's 458 is equiped with them if I am correct).

BTW, I will also go for some Italian sportcars...

That´s awesome, I do remember your appreciation for these cars. Happy to see that you can finally fulfill your dream! kiss

I personally find the std. rims too busy, the car itself is already featuring quite a few graphical elements on all sides. I seem to have seen a third rim variant on 458s lately, could it be that there is another option available recently?

    Kreso,

I'm thinking of having the wheels painted in 430 Scuderia grey wheels color. Optional chrome shadow color is still a little bright for me.

BTW, while looking for the old 458 thread, I read that you have decided to buy on grigio titanio 458 italia. Why did you change your mind?

Thank you John. The waiting process is the part of the experiment. I have always bought my car as a special order. Never got the car from the lot.

    Alex,

Thank you for the kind words. Actually, I really like the 991. It is a wonderful car. But I was very happy and satisfied with my M3. It was a wonderful car. I wish to keep it with the 458, but it has to go to make way to 458.

I'm lusting after only one car. Mid-engined V8 Ferraris always change my chemistry. No other car does it for me. So no Porsche for me in the near future. But, I may buy a Cayman for my other half when the time comes. ;)
