Facelifted Range Rover with more power

400 HP from a turbo charged V8 engine.
More detailled specs should be available soon.

Re: Facelifted Range Rover with more power

    2.

Re: Facelifted Range Rover with more power

    Looks good!

I read that for 2006 the BMW V8 engine, BMW nav and BMW switchgear have all been replaced by Jaguar components.

I think the 400hp version is supercharged and the standard V8 has 305hp. The transmissions are 6sp ZF automatics.

Fortunately, Porsche could not convince Rover to license their beloved throttle hesitation software.

Re: Facelifted Range Rover with more power

I also thought that the 400 HP version is supercharged because it is actually an engine used from Jaguar.
But my info says "TURBO CHARGED", the Range Rover Sport engine will be supercharged with 380 HP. Interesting, why would Range Rover offer two different engines (one turbo charged and one supercharged) on almost the same type of car (the Range Rover Sport is based on the Landrover)? Let them surprise us. Maybe this is a "hint" on the upcoming next BMW X5 generation which is rumored to get a turbo charged V8 engine instead of the V10 from the M5 due to torque output and other issues.

Re: Facelifted Range Rover with more power

Nahhhhhh, most likely your source may have misheard or mis translated and or just got his wires "Cayenned" somehow. Its likely Rover will be offering a turbo diesel, and somehow the "turbo" from the "diesel" got mixed up with V8 gas engine info.

The "go fast" Jag engines are all supercharged. For the Rover application the stroke is changed, as are the engine seals, oil pump and air and fuel intakes likewise modified for unJaguar like off road use.

There is another German fellow who has a Porsche forum internet site who just got rid of his Cayenne after 22 service visits in one year. This same guy also previously had a ML400d that was a ownership disaster. He just replaced his Cayenne with a new diesel Range Rover.

Its a strange world when British cars become an attractive alternative to now seemingly problem plagued German cars.

I believe I am over 7 but quit counting. Trying to dump a Cayenne is very similar to trying to sell a used 996/997. The financial hit is enormous. As they say "live and learn".

You need to get in touch with the guy that stole your 5 series and see if he's out of jail yet

Re: Facelifted Range Rover with more power

No doubt about it, this car is the most beautiful SUV on the road, it has been ever since 1970.
All Range Rover are very beautiful and charming cars.
