    Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

    "No sense of passion?"

What did he mean by that?

If a car is not too well built, has some flaws that are particular to that car, or is pretty useless in every sense some call that "charm" or "exotic".

If a car is too well-built, too unflawed or too composed when you drive it hard- some call it "lacking passion".

If Clarckson had been more specific with his critique maybe we would know whether to disagree or not.
The Boxster and (I am guessing) thereby the Cayman are not "exotic" in that sense described above...so maybe he feels they are too easy to drive in a fun way to provide a sense of passion????
Does he mean "no sense of involvement" ? "No sense of craziness"?

Who know? I'm not even sure he does himself.
It must be hard alwas to feel the urge to come up with something controversial and provocative about every single car you drive.
...and it sure is boring in the long run

He means he likes Alfa Romeo. Cuore sportivo.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

It really bores me to see how much that guy hates Porsche. Every review of a P car he does it's the same. Why doesn't he let someone else test the car? I start to believe what someone else here on the forum said, JC is more an entertainer than anything else.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

Don't care about him. Just buy your Pork and enjoy it!!! He may not taste the same food that you like, but it does not mean that he is right. And above all any other car magazine I have read talks very good about the "Coxster" so I think he is just a little... stupid? As I have seen before in the forum he is more busy making him a star that testing cars....

The Docs right and you could see that on the program . The tail slides were so even and steady they looked so easy to control and like the 911 you can be made to look a very good driver . I think JC meant it was to perfect which made it not challenging enough ..

    throt..

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

I know he makes jokes about Porsche and all but I think with this car he is dead on ..... the truth hurts . This is just a moneymaker for Porsche , to make sure they do not miss sales in-between the Boxter and the 997 .

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

    Porsche don't make rubbish cars.

So I'm sure it will slot right in to where Porsche intended it to, just below the 911 and above the Boxster S. I don't under stand why some people seem to have a problem that

Goes against every other review, every car maker builds cars to make money, their not in't for the laugh.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

No sense of passion while driving a SLK 55. Still clinical German and IMO nowhere near as nice as the Boxster or Cayman

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

I think he ment that it felt like it is. It is a car that was held back, a car that was not alowed to touch the base 911's lack of performance. He said the car is great and easy to drive, but it didnt feel like it was made to be the best it can be. The CGT = built to the best it can be (and he states its made with passion), the GT3 = built to the best it can be, and they raved about it. Im dissapointed with the cayman its like the car is married and its wife wont let it go out and party with the boys or watch a game, but rather has to go shopping with the wife. for a sports car, its pathetic.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson about Cayman S:

The man couldn't even shift into first without hitting reverse, what a poor argument. It takes effort to put it into reverse, he has to be very uncoordinated. Once he used that "argument", I just laughed at him.
