Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

Just listen to the sound, it's fabulous Smiley

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

I really like this 911, new body parts especially rear wing and rear bumper.

New upholstry is very nice and unique. 2 wheel drive chassie with wider rear fenders looks great.

Only thing is it is too expensive

Unless I'm mistaken, the body parts (except for the spoiler) are exactly the same as the ones used on the new 997.2 RS, minus the wing and the front lip. The exhaust exits are also different.... so the special production is fairly cheap for Porsche... and still they are asking a Very (with a capital V) high price for it.

    Very Porsche like SmileySmiley

We are talking about a Car manafacturer that charges money for LSD on its premium sports car.

Charges money for paddles for its double-clutch gearbox and you can't even get it from all model range.

A company that charges more money for extra features of its PDK transmission.

So I'm not suprised for this limited numbered model price..

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

This car is a real rip-off in my opinion and if I would have the money, I would rather get a 997 GT3 RS or, if I would need the rear seats, the 997 Carrera S with powerkit.

No matter if this is limited production, this car has nothing really special in my opinon to justify the extreme price tag. I would MAYBE understand it if Porsche would build only 10 or 20 of these but like this... a huge rip-off, sorry to say that. I wonder who buys this thing.

This car reminds of the limited Millenium Edition they produced prior to year 2000.  How collectible they turned out to be Smiley.

The sound is perfect ! It looks realy good ( exept for the front lip) I love the back and the rims. Nice color too.

But , as you all say, the price does not make any sence.

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

The sound is AWESOME!!  But I can't help but feeling cheated as a PSE customer -  shouldn't we get that sound as standard?  As it is, it is ridiculous that we have to already pay more for a sporty sound out of a sports car, only for Porsche to imply that you need to pay THAT MUCH more to get the correct sound after all.

I'm still at only 3,000kms, but I feel the PSE could sound MUCH better if they only tried.  All this time I thought they were restricted by sound emission laws, but obviously not if the SC was passed for production.

I thought that the SC exhaust is the PSE. Anyway, the X51 that is included in the SC as standard uses the normal PSE. Are you sure it is something different?

As to the general point of including some options as standard equipment, IMO opinion it wouldn't make any difference in the end because if they did that, the starting price would have been just the same as we pay now with extras. They do so for two reasons: some people don't care about the PSE or even the Sport/Sport Plus and also they want to have the psychological advantage of offering a lower price compared to cars in the same class.

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

Fortunately it costs nothing to watch the video or look at the pictures. Perhaps in the future Porsche will charge for this as well.

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

Reginos, I don't know if in actual fact they have tweaked the exhausts any further than the normal PSE or not - just that from the video, it sounds far better than the standard PSE fitted to my car, for e.g.

You've got PSE, correct?  Can you relate to the sound in the video?

Looked at the Webspecial again. It says "exhaust system: specially tuned", so it should it!

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

overpriced and rip-off! Only someone which is not to much into Porsche and drives this cars because of its brand and not because of the passion will buy this.

For the same money you can get a 997 Turbo S, or even a GT2. Why should you go for this car?

And finally - just take a 997 and change the bumpers and rear-lights. This is small money and you can have the same look!

I personally like everything about this car. And there are things you cannot (practically) modify like the wide body with 2WD and the roof for example.

The price is sure ridiculous unless you are Seinfeld or somebody similar. I wish they made 1500 or even 2000 units and only charged a reasonable premium above a Carrera S with X51 and PCCB.

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

I want those rims for my car, are they available for mere S people like us?

Arshad, agree on the PSE thing, we were ripped dude, big time.  PSE sounds shite, thinking of changing to AWE, and give a rats arse about the warranty issues.

Re: Nice video of the new 911 Sportclassic

    Hi,

can someone help me to load this video to have it on my ZEN?

    thks
