    Re: Tesla Model 3

The 5 series GT has a boot that opens the same, however it also has a second opening where you can open it as a lift back.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

Only way to get enough rear passenger headroom was to move the rear roof cross-car support beam. A bike will still fit no problem.

    — Elon Musk (@elonmusk)

Well, dear Elon if bike will still fit where would rear passangers sit with bike present in trunk? Oh, nowhere?

When was the last time you were traveling with 3+ people and had a random bike in the trunk?

That's what roof racks are for.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

Well yeah, but that's not a comparable model. It's like saying, where am I going to put my giant dog crate in your 550D, even though I do it quite often in my SUV.

I don't think anyone who need a wagon or SUV is really going to consider a Model 3 in the first place. And like someone said, you'd just buy roof racks for bikes and sports stuff.

I wonder where is cut line for trunk door smiley

If this were an Audi designed vehicle, the shunt lines would be follow the natural breaks in the daylight opening, not the disjointed lines shown in the photograph above.

Every time Musk sends a tweet about Tesla, I become more and more convinced that the company is managed by whim versus standardized operating parameters.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

Tesla is no Audi - this is simply white goods for the consumable generation. It's a fridge\vacuum\TV and there are plenty of people who are so indifferent to cars, they don't see anything soulful or characterful as necessary. I think it's interesting that he's challenging the current car purchase process and its associated marketing - probably adapting to millennials needs more than any other brand, but I also think it's rather sad that something marketed as "green" and planet friendly will simply become another disposable trinket therefore failing in it's marketed purpose. Yet the consumer simply doesn't care.

I was actually thinking to myself how expensive it would be to demolish a nuclear power plant given the radioactive nature of the plant etc. I've never heard of a nuclear plant being demolished. Is it a common occurrence?

This is the oldest nuclear plant in France, so I don't think it's ever happened before, at least in France.

If a government were to do it, it would be very expensive. All levels of contractors skimming profit off the contracts.

Elon could just do a garage sale of the plant, after the worthy stuff are gone, just hire those Syrian refugees to do the actual demolition, I am sure those people will work for much cheaper wages than the French people, and will be much harder working less lazy.

    EDIT:

LOL, there is actually a wiki page fro decommissioning a nuclear power plant!

The car design itself isn't bad at all, quite "time-less" for such a car, similar to the Tesla S.

I agree, the rims are looking bad...

    Re: Tesla Model 3

The real reason Tesla is successful is because somehow all other auto companies are incapable of making relatively normal looking EVs. They all make ugly shit 99% of people would never want to drive.

BMW is probably the poster child for failure when it comes to Hybrid/EV design and marketing, and Toyota and the Prius aren't far behind.

This just in: People don't want they're EVs and Hybrids to look any different than their ICEs. The number one rule of EV design and marketing should be: Would someone buy this car if it had an ICE? If the answer is no, you should get back to the drawing board.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

    I preordered two.

    It's so cheap.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

I ordered five. I am planning to "vaska" Teslas. 1.gif

    I ordered one.

Question should be, how many of us who ordered one will actually go through with it? Might help us figure out how many of the 375k would actually translate into a real purchase.

    Re: Tesla Model 3

We already have 2 Teslas (Roadster + Models S), so we don't feel the need to order more.
