    20 mm sport suspension question

Hi all, I'm ordering my 997S tomorrow, but I cannot find much details about the 20 mm sport suspension setup on the Porsche's website. Is this for the european market only? I have been searching around to learn more about this but the search does not seem to help much. Thanks in advance for any leading information.

Re: 20 mm sport suspension question

It wasn't available in the USA for 2005 models and I am assuming it is not available for the 2006's either.

Re: 20 mm sport suspension question

Unfortunately, it is Euro only and there is no other way to order a Limited Slip Diff (a must have option for the track).

Also, there is no option to exclude PASM for those who would like to add aftermarket coilovers.

    I wrote Schwarzenbauer last October

still no word from porsche on the option for the US. I gave up waiting and bought a GT3 instead.

Re: I wrote Schwarzenbauer last October

I'm glad I gave up waiting also.

Can Limited Slip Diff be retrofitted onto an auto Tiptrionic tranny?

I have no idea, except that I am certain it would void your warranty. Quaife may have a torque biasing diff for the 997...

Re: 20 mm sport suspension question

According to GT-Purely Porsche magazine..the sport suspension is just not advisable for public roads as it is too stiff.!! Standard PASM is soo good its not worth sacrificing ride comfort for that extra grip on sport suspension!Unless your a track addict!

They should drive the car for a decent period of time before talking rubbish. My car rides softer on -20mm than a PASM car on sport and not only that when a Porsche technician came out with me for a passenger ride he was awestruck by how much less bobble from the front my car had over a PASM car. This in turn was exactly my impression of the PASM car as it bobbles disconcertingly at the front.

If you can get a -20mm car then it is a far better option than people who have not tested it properly, would make out.

Many members here have the -20mm option and have nothing but praise for it. I don't recall there being any major complaints about comfort.

Exactly what I thought , front end felt like the tires were over flated . Also the front tended to bunny hop after hitting some bumps ..
