I sold yesterday my beloved 981 Spyder and will get a Stripper-Carrera T in April.

Last Info is that 718 Spyder will arrive in 2020 - so T for me in this and next season.

In 2020 I will decide betweeb 718 Spyder or used GT3 Touring - depends on the 718 engine and my driving experience with the 991-Platform-T.

The chance to get a GT3 Touring at MSRP, even used(!), will be pretty small if you don't get a new car now. These cars will hold their value pretty well and could become the "next best thing" next to a 911 R.

Well...those who really wanted the 911 R and couldn't get one, talking about drivers here, not collectors, will certainly go for a GT3 Touring. Now and in the future. This car won't be easy to get "cheap" (or at MSRP Smiley) in a couple of years I'm afraid. Right now, it seems the GT3 Touring is still available (had an April production slot offered but declined...with PDK and rear seats, I would have taken it, seriously).

May be I´m wrong, but I see the used car prices of the 991.2 GT3 Touring in 2 years around 135K € - as you said, last week I still could have ordered one at my OPC (with no discount) and  there already have been offers on mobile.de for slightly under list price.

They produce a lot of these cars - right now - I have seen at our OPC 4 Touring over the last weeks.

I think it depends whether there will be a 992 GT3 Touring or not.

I'd be interested in knowing the exact production number of all 991.2 GT3s and compare it to the 991.1 number. Wasn't the 991.1 GT3 built during a longer period of time, and they made around 5000 units.

It is not only about the touring. It is about high rev powerful NA engine coupled with a manual. Smiley

The GT3.2 has a better engine than its prototype. It will soon be a classic if you think what the future is all about electric or turbo. Smiley talking about value has no sense now.

    Re: 718 Spyder

Still think the market for a manual car is not as big as you all imply. The touring will have good resale value vs the disaster that the regular 911 now are, but I don’t see anywhere near MSRP in two years. More like around $100-110k. Way too many GTx coming out from the factory for prices to stay put.

    Re: 718 Spyder

I also think there will be way too many GT of any kind to retain excellent value . There will most probably be a 992 Touring that is going to be '' better '' then the curent one or at least to interest more the general public .

I have no clue, my information resources regarding the 718 are very limited.

For me, the GT4 and RS rumor doesn't make sense, a GT4 and GT4 RS would make more sense but apparently there is some sort of strategy behind this...at least this is the rumor. Can't say how valid it is though, it doesn't come directly from Porsche but someone I know well and who often has the right information (or close to it).
