    GT3 factory collection

I am picking up a GT3 from the factory in November. I have four days to spend in Germany with the car before dropping it off for Porsche to ship it to me in Hong Kong.

I would like to arrange a driving tour for the four days I have. Apart from the factory organised tour, does anyone know if there are alternative tours offered by other companies? Given the time constraint I prefer to stay within Germany. Any places I should visit?

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

    Re: GT3 factory collection

If you like tracks, car legends, exitment, myth, athmospheres, why don't you include a few laps of the Nurburgring? I know the car will be new, but even just to go around the track without going hight in the revs will be an exiting experience.

    Re: GT3 factory collection

if doesn't raig you can do also a couple of laps ...
if rains .....it's up to you !

I will come back to Nurburgring when my GT3 is ready to go fast!

She's already more than ready...probably YOU have to be ready to lap the Ring with a GT3!!

    Re: GT3 factory collection

Despite your tight schedule try Italo-Swiss Alps, about 5-7hrs quick/fast driving from Stuttgart. It worths the experience, especially since you'll be able to drive your GT3 both on the German/Swiss Autobahnen but also on the spectacular Alpine Passes. The typical route is from Stuttgart to Basel through A5, then straight forward to Zurich, Interlaken, and finally the San Gottardo Tunnel where pure driving joy lives around. It will not take you more than 1 1/2 day to acquire a good idea of your breathtaking GT3.

Personally I schedule a lot alike road trip with my C2S hopefully by the end of this year. However I have crossed those Passes quite a lot of times.

The link is from another thread of this forum, have a look and tell us when you make your mind how you'll spend your first days with her.

Good idea, thanks. Do you know if it is open daily to the public?

Almost every day but only during certain hours. You can check the days and hours here:

What do you mean lost his driverlicence? Is your brother Swiss of Belgian? Was he caught in a speed control or just received a notification asking to return his driving licence? I wonder how the hell the Swiss authorities are literally enforced to suspend one's licence, especially when not of Swiss nationality.

My suggestion is to write a letter to Porsche AG (Zuffenhausen) and tell them that you would like a tour of your areas of interest (southern Germany (like the Alpenstrasse, and perhaps a little of northern Italy and a couple of nice passes in Switzerland. November means the chance of snow so you may want to limit it to the Lake Constance area and Bavaria (Germany). The factory can arrange that sort of thing and does this routinely. (I also recommend a visit to Heidelberg).

I spent a lot more time there this summer when picking up my cabriolet,--but recommend a stop at Neuswanstein, and Garmisch (the Zugspitze mountain). I HIGHLY recommend the DVD Navigational system that is integrated into their cars nicely in Europe. They will loan you a Euro DVD for the period of your visit. It is far better than juggling Michelin maps at the side of the road, and will also keep you out of traffic jams. (Less of an issue in November, fortunately).

    Good luck!

    Dan

A wonderful view you have provided there. Just perfect with a hint of the tree in the foreground and majestic mountains. It looks like a postcard! Interesting Porsche too... Thanks

    Re: GT3 factory collection

    ERDoc,

Congratulations on you GT3 purchase. Definitely do the Nurburgring in it as you won't have a chance to do anything like that with it in Hong Kong.

I look forward to seeing it one Sunday morning in Luk Keng.

Ahh weather could be a factor here as the Ring is in the Eifel...
