    Panamera S Sport Auto test

    Hockenheim 1.15,8min!

Ugly it is.... Fast it is also...

AZ did a first test of the Panamera turbo: 0-200 in 13.5s... Not bad either

Just do not forget that recently all cars are very, very fast when measured by AZ...

So, you can expect around 14.5s by AMS and SA.

Re: Panamera S Sport Auto test

Yep, I think something around 14-14.5 seconds is more realistic.

    Still...pretty fast for a limousine.

However...if I look at the Jaguar XF-R...the "old" model but with the new engine...for 89000 EUR, this car delivers a similar performance. Strange, isn't it?!

    Christian,

XFR and new XKR are excellent cars for the money. Period. I drove both and I am truly impressed with engine, drive dynamics and autobox. It is in my humble opinion the best automatic currently on the market.

I am tempted by XFR and XKR again...

Re: Panamera S Sport Auto test

Jaguars have always had lots of quality (often of the not readily seen kind) and reliability problems.

Maybe they are solved (or reduced) now but why buy Jaguar when there are so many excellent proven brands and models around to choose from?

You buy Jaguar mainly if you are English (understandable), or U.S. ( England has a special appeal, including the english accent) and recently Indian.

I do not want to be rude-BUT, is there any other brand for you beside Porsche and maybe(and that is very big Maybe) Audi?

Do not get me wrong but, there are other very good cars beside two brands mentioned above.

New Jaguar models are very good cars and reliablity is very, very good these days...

I like all the German brands actually, besides Porsche,  and we've had various examples of all of them at various times (both cheaper models and more expensive) and our experience has been excellent from all perspectives.

I also like cars owned by the VW Group like Bentley for their class with speed and Skoda for their affordable yet solid engineering.

Why would I wish to experiment with Jaguar when I can choose from Mercedes, BMW and Audi? Jaguar has made progress from their low point of the past and some Jaguar models are at best as good as some german cars but not better. So why bother?

Even the "Union Jack flying" Autocar magazine admitted in a group test last month that the acclaimed diesel XF is no match for the new E350 CDi.

I would certainly not laugh at someone who buys a XF or XK today,  like I would have done some years ago with the corresponding models of that time,  but personally I don't see the benefit.
