    Re: Audi RS6 Sedan

    My only hesitancy on getting an RS6 sedan (assuming it makes it stateside) is the auto tranny. But I hear MTM has manual tranny conversion kits for Audi's (but I have no clue on cost and quality of such kits).

    Still, twin turbocharged V10, hmmmm. Boy that sounds tempting.

    Bah, an automatic is welcome for a daily driver .

    No need to worry. The RS6 auto tranny is excellent. Even better than BMW's DKG.

    The RS6 system is very smooth and very fast, manual up and down shifts are executed without delay and the automatic sports mode is excellent for ambituous drivers... The only disadvantage (just my personal opinion): the auto box should switch to 6th gear if the car is driven fast but at constant speed on the Autobahn. That would clearly help saving fuel while driving long distances in Sports mode

    I own a S6 avant since 4 months, made 25.000 km , and i absolutely love the car!
    I agree with you Kreso, a lot of people here don't love Audi and I really can' t see way....anyway to each is own!!

    Very funny. Good taste fortunately doesn't stop at countries' borders...

    It is surely hard for Audi to set a mark on the market of powerful limousines, BMW dominates the category in terms of handling so far, Mercedes in terms of power output. Brands like Lexus and Cadillac have consecutively been the runner-ups, so what is left for Audi? The "S" designation, as I understand it, used to be the equivalent to BMW's M and Merc's AMG badges, however they quickly realised that those cars were not on par so they released the "RS" models. I am a huge fan of the RS4 (with all its drawbacks), TT-RS and S8 and Audi as a whole but I wish they would've taken the concept of the RS6 a tad further, away from being a direct rival for M5 and E63. The car has, in my eyes, enough potential to define a concept of its own, just as the previous S models bridged the gap between sport and elegance.

    Anyways, enjoy the car since it surely is one of the best offers on the market today and obviously perfectly suits your needs.

    I love Audis. But RS6 makes no sense to me in my country. Our highest speed limit is 110kmh, and police are very strict in this with speed cameras everywhere. If I want a large car that I can accelerate off the lights quickly, then I rather a Cayenne Turbo S because it also gives me the height factor. I will never take a car like this to the track. In fact even my much smaller C63 will probably never see track time. Btw, C63 is probably as large as I like to go in terms of size. Anything bigger I prefer a SUV. I used to be a SUV hater too, until we decided to get one because of the birth of our baby. Now I actually quite like them (as long as I can still have my sports cars of course). But of course that is Melbourne Australia. In Croatia, Germany etc this would be different.

    According to Drivers Republic, the RS6 sedan has received revised spring rates. The car seems to be somewhat different than the estate version. So Kreso, it might indeed shed a different light...
