    The tail lights have a bit of an Audi look imho. Great improvement over the bulbous, droopy originals however. I like them.  The front end looks good too.

    Interesting...I was thinking the same (Q7). Maybe Audi already "took over" the Cayenne development (I don't have a clue). Smiley It looks good though and I am actually surprised how good with so little changes.

    I immediately thought of these old Audi A4 lights. The Q7 are similar.

    After driving 2000 miles in the Macan, I can tell the PDK makes the car. More fun, better handling, more practical, same interior as Cayenne and 30% less. A no brainer... My wife also finds it a revelation compared to our old $145k Cayenne...

    The Cayenne is finally getting to that good looking refined phase. First generation was hideous IMO, second one a lot better, and now this one looks quite nice and much more fluid. I don't think it's fresh enough to warrant an upgrade if you already have one, and I'd probably say just buy a used one and save the money until the real next generation one comes out. That said, I'm not really an expensive SUV person, so to each their own.

    I agree.  The newest Cayenne's look really good.  I can't believe the 1st generation Cayenne looks the way it does, in comparison.

    Now, I've said this before, but... Too bad I can't fit a golf bag with clubs across in the rear.

    Absolutely not. We had 2 kids in car seats (one is a booster) and an adult back there, it fits. Of course it would be tight for a long trip, but we don't do those anyway. Trunk is more than sufficient, but again if we go to the airport with 5 people and all the luggages we wouldn't fit in a Cayenne either, we would barely fit in a Suburban actually Smiley.

    In the front seating is more snug than the Cayenne, but it is cozy and doesn't feel cramped. Another nice feature is the lower height, easier for kids to get in and out, yet driving position higher than cars. It is close to the perfect car for us. Could it use more power? Of course but 400 is more than sufficient because of the PDK. And exhaust could be louder inside, but from outside it is fine. Some (not me) would actually called the silence a feature)... I have gotten rave impressions of the red/black interior with carbon inserts. Many have said it is the nicest interior they have ever seen.

    I am also expecting much lower running costs than the TTS, Still not too happy about 3 brake jobs in 40k miles to the tune of $4.5k each and three sets of performance tires... Now using 20" all season tires RS spider wheels... The Macan is 500lbs lighter... All for $95k vs $150k for the Cayenne or Panamera when you could argue the Macan basically has the best features from both Smiley

    That's exactly what made me think Audi. The old A4. As I said, I like that design a lot still...

    Amazing... there is a Cayenne facelift with lots of changes around the engines - and the only thing we are talking about are the front and rear lights

    Not really seeing the "many changes" around the engines, there is nothing really new (OK, the hybrid maybe and the 3 horses for the S Diesel), nothing we don't know from the Panamera facelift already.

    The design changes are really the main attraction here, the LED head lights look great and the tail lights aren't ugly either.

    Hi! Facelift is very, very modest...... Rear lights are really A4 or Q7 lights, which is really awkward. Steering wheel and front lights are cool, though.

    I ike that they have changed so litte since I am i process of byuing slightly used previous Cayenne:)

This is how the Cayenne should have looked from the start to be really innovative (design-wise) but like always, Porsche puts the ugly duckling (not really but you get my point) on the market first and then, the beautiful swan emerges (facelift). Smiley Not a fan of this strategy though, sorry.

    Exactly. It is a marketing-driven philosophy based on "how can we sell as much as possible with as little effort as possible", rather than "how can we bring the best product we can come up with and make a good profit in the mean time".

    It is something that infuriates me, as it shows a serious lack of respect toward the customer, it sees the customer as a cash-cow, rather than someone you want to build a relationship with.
    Another example (in my eyes) is the whole Non-S vs S version story. In the days of the 9993 and the 996, the S was just something to introduce at the end of the lifecycle to increase salse one last time, but with something special as well (turbo bodies, hp increase, etc). Now they diluted the Carrera name AND the Carrera S name in one go, at the same time needing to take refuge to another acronym for the end of life model (GTS)...

    The Gepetto whiskers of the 991 have been an eyesore since the day of it's introduction, and the worst part: we all know they are going to "fix" it with the facelift...

    Totally agree. There should be no S and non S. And too many options non standard... I would drop the non S entirely, keep the price of the S and include more stuffs like full leather and most sport features (on the 911 and all turbo versions) or comfort features on other models. Then keep one souped up version, the "turbo". No "turbo S" for a high premium and a software tweak... Drop the GTS versions, the turbo version should have the GTS chassis setup. Then drop the entry level diesel models, they are not worthy of the Porsche moniker. Once and a while introduce a really special version to keep the buzz afloat. Tweak the features every year, don't wait for the facelift. Allow some features to be retrofitted (like Mc Laren and Ferrari do).

    Hard to know if Porsche holds back its best stuff as a marketing stunt, but I doubt it.  More likely, new models have a certain development/production budget and timetable, and at some point the designs have to be signed off on and produced.  And while I may also question the facelift process, I also realize that between facelifts Porsche does offer new options for customers who order the "pre-facelift" models...

    I want to place an order for a 2015 Cayenne Turbo, but my local dealer does not have any allocation yet. Also, the USA "Build Your Porsche" site for the Cayenne is not complete yet. The two option packages, Premium Package and Premium Package Plus do not list what they include. They simply say "TBD" (To Be Determined). Hopefully this will all be corrected sometime this week so I can place an order and receive the car in November.

    Does anyone have any credible information on the anticipated release of the GTS?  I am torn between ordering an S and waiting (if the wait is only a few more months) for the GTS.  At the same time, the physical appearance between the S and Turbo appears to be less significant as with prior iterations of the car, particularly if you spec the S with LED headlights (which I would), suggesting that the GTS would be positioned in a more narrow slot than previously (with the principal distinction being the V-8).  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. 

    It also appears that several staple Porsche colors are not presently available - most notably, Agate Gray.  Any thoughts on Rhodium Silver would also be appreciated.  I would probably go with the 21' black wheels for a sporty look.

    canada site  is now working but the wheel selections include nothing that i like.

    the new look of most of the selections are all far too busy. too much design for the eyes, and too much work for the hands.

    The insignificance of the facelift  (especially technically) is making the current Cayenne Turbo a great deal. I am seeing 1 year old cars with less than 8000 km from official Porsche centers in Germany at 40% discount. I suspect that the same will happen early next year with the 991 Turbo/S. I am used to buying my cars brand new, but it's very tempting to get a fully loaded car with immediate delivery that is practically new at 30-40% discount...

    True but I usually lease my cars, so it doesn't really matter. Used cars are sometimes more expensive regarding lease cost than new cars because Porsche usually offers lease incentives over here, so... 

    The new Cayenne Turbo is very tempting and if I wouldn't have the Jeep SRT, I would probably go for one. I like the new front with LED lights a lot.

    The really interesting thing is that the 2015 Turbo with 520 HP is faster 0-60 MPH than the 550 HP 2014 Turbo S (4.1 seconds verses 4.3 seconds). They both have the same torgue @ 553 lb.-ft.

    I wonder how fast the next Turbo S might be.

    With PASM, PSM, ASR, ABD & MSR it will have more capability than I will ever need. I live in Southern California and about the only place I get a chance to really test the high speed cornering capability of my cars is on a curving freeway on-ramp. I recently took my 911 to the mountains and was having some fun negotiating the turns, but had to slow it down when I noticed that the Highway Patrol was out in force. Around here you have to do your speeding in short spurts because of traffic and/or police.

    I am not seeing the Performance Exhaust System available as an option on any of the models that are currently identified on the configurator, although the exhaust logo that is generally associated with the PES is viewable on the interior press photos for the refresh.  I can't imagine that PES is included as a standard feature.  Does anyone have any information on this option? 

    I am assuming that one of the key drawbacks of the Turbo V-6 in the "S" relative to the old V-8 will be engine and exhaust noice.  I'd love to add PES to bolster the V-6 if possible.
