    ah, i'm so excited

    can't wait for Q3 / 05

    Yep, she's a beauty!

Can't wait for 2005 as well...

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

It looks beautiful, but in my opinion the front is nearly the same as the 360modena + the laterals as well!.
I like the rear part ( enzo style).
Probably the best modification apart from the engine, is the interior, Ferrari interiors looks in my opinion much better than Porsche interiors, much much more sporty!!, and what about the engine start button in the steering wheel!!, wow!.

Thanks RC for the privilege official pics!!

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

    Hallo everybody!
    Beautiful report, thanks RC.
    But there's a lack: weight!
I Know the normal weight is almost 1490 Kg.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

    Thank you RC!
    Amazing!
The queen is dead, long live the queen!
See that's the thing with italian cars, you just know that the 997 Turbo will probably be better than this in terms of performance, but man, just look at it!!!

the F430's power to weight ratio is incredible -- even the 997TT won't come close having in mind that the current 996 turbo s weights approx 1600 kg's and i don't expect the 997 to be much lighter. so about 600 HP is needed to reach the same power to weight ratio!

but of course we all know that official italian specs and HP have to be taken with a grain of salt. but i hope that with the F430 these times are over

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

    Fantastic car! Thanks!

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

The interior pic shows the (standard) alloy interior, I guess.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

    Stunningly beautiful.

Can't say much about this right now but only one hint:
the 996 Turbo S needs 9.0 seconds from 0-160 kph (100 mph), the F430 needs 0.2 seconds longer. Both official figures.

I would still put my money on the 997 Turbo but no matter which one is faster, the F430 is finally what I expected from Ferrari, not another 360 softy.
I'll be able to drive one next year, just can't wait.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

I got this from a colleague of mine who is a long term Ferrari owner. Not sure of the source:

"Just under one month before the public unveiling at the Paris Mondial de l'Automobile on September 21, Ferrari have launched official studio photography of their F430 'Modena Evoluzione'.
Based on the 360 Modena, the F430 has 70% new components and a 4.3-litre engine. This, together with brutal styling adopted from the Enzo supercar, is set to win back lost ground from the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The F430 is a technical masterpiece, with a new six-speed F1 gearbox called "Impulse". It also comes with a electronic differential, which can be controlled internally by the driver through a knob on the steering wheel.
In accordance with the exterior, the interior has also undergone changes with a new steering wheel and centre consol being the most obvious. Compared to the 360 Modena, the F430's interior has sportier overtones. The steering wheel is more adjustable, whilst the speedometer background is available in yellow or red. The centre console is also available in either aluminium or carbon finish.
With the European version of the car developing 490 bhp, the 1,350 kg (dry weight) F430 has a power-to-weight ratio equal to that of the 360 Challenge Stradale.
Performance is stunning, with the sprint from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) taking only 3.95 seconds. 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) takes 9.20 seconds, whilst 0-242 km/h (0-150 mph) takes 21.4 seconds. The car does the standing quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 190 km/h (118 mph), whilst the top speed lies at 315 km/h (197 mph). Optional CCM Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes help ensure that this power remains under control.
The new F430 will be priced 4% higher than the outgoing 360 Modena, and first deliveries in Europe are scheduled in late October and the beginning of November 2004. Ferrari plans that the Spider and Challenge versions will debut roughly one year after the launch of the coupe. A Challenge Stradale version remains as yet undecided.

great pics tazmaniac, nice color and much better seats than the regular on the pics above (from the red 430).

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

I think so too, never liked red/tan anyway....

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

I must order one as soon as possible this car rocks, better than getting a Gallardo in my opinion, but which color do u think guys will be magnificent, I might go for the blue or the yellow one.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

blue??? You are kidding...If you like a dark color, don't decide for blue, take black or leave it...

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

I have a black X50 I might go for the midnight blue or I might order a special color from Standox Monte Carlo magic or the kyalami flash

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

those are colors that change under different lighting conditions, right? probably more suitable for a tvr than for a ferrari, don't you think...

Given there's probably 12-18 months between release of 430 and 997TTS, I would think P will closely evaluate performance differences and modify 997TTS parameters as needed (and possibly incorporate an F1-style transmission). I think weak torque vs TTS remains 430's major weakness, while P may need to engineer out the feeling of relative heft of 997TTS...

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

    also taken from owner`s site...

The F430 hails the arrival of a new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder engines. The new model takes Ferrari's extraordinary achievements with aluminium construction technology, which started with the 360 Modena, to a whole new level and offers a series of extremely significant innovations directly derived from the Prancing Horse's Formula 1 single-seaters.

Two of these innovations are world firsts for production cars: the electronic differential (E-DIFF) initially developed by Ferrari for its F1 single-seaters but now adapted to the needs of a high performance road car, and the steering wheel-mounted commutator switch (better known to the Scuderia's drivers as the "manettino") which the driver uses to select the integrated systems governing vehicle dynamics.

The other main characteristics of the new Ferrari F430 are its light, compact 4,300cc 90* V8 engine which punches out 490 hp to achieve a specific horse power of 114 bhp/litre, guaranteeing the new Ferrari berlinetta a weight-to-power ratio of 2.8 kg/hp (dry weight); a braking system with optional carbon-ceramic discs for optimal efficiency even after severe and prolonged braking; a Formula 1-derived gearbox that cuts gear shifting times to 150 milliseconds, allowing the driver to make the very most of a truly high performance car (0-100 km/h acceleration in four seconds flat, a top speed in excess of 315 km/h); and lastly, sophisticated aerodynamics that adopt the very latest racing developments, especially in terms of the flat underbody and big rear diffuser to increase downforce.

    Good info ADEAZE

But I find it so humerous how they try to fool some people with the F1 directly derived this and that what a joke, nothing is remotely similar to F1, not even the so called "F1" sequential gearbox. Its like some tire makers with the "F1 derived technology" adds

I'm very curious to know what type of differential it uses and how is it adjusted with the nob at the wheel, that seems like a great feature.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

It would be actually very interesting to know how it works.

Re: F430 - OFFICIAL Pictures Available and Tech Info!!!

Looking at the photo Ron, those look like too many settings for just a rear differential locking rates, i.e. those are more than what a just differential can have an effect on, Snow, Wet, Sport, Track, and "something" OFF.
Leads me to think it also changes the setting of the Traction Control (ASR) or the electronic stability system (PSM equivalent) if it has one, and also F1 gearbox shifting maps. Managing all that would then be able to taylor the cars dinamics for Snow, Wet, Sport, Track, and Track with ASR/PSM OFF. In F1 they have all this but in separate buttons/nobs for independent setting posibilities but that would be too complicated for a street car. Just my guess though.
