    My GT3

Hi Guys few pics of my GT3 after a visit at Techart facory.

    Cheers

    Re: My GT3

    Another one

    Re: My GT3

    last one

    Re: My GT3

It looks great, almost mean. Did you get any motor upgrades with the wheels? I can't wait to hear some official numbers and prices for the induction kit.

    i have nothing to add
    thanks for sharing!!!!

    Re: My GT3

I had techart gt formula wheels 18'' and their sport exhaust only; planning to fit a sporty air filter (like gt3 cup) but not really interested in mods to the engine.

    Cheers

    Re: My GT3

To be honest, I don't understand why anyone would change the rims on a new GT3... the original ones are very beautiful and, well... original. I don't like exterior changes on porsches very much anyway, but especially on a GT3, I cannot appreciate it at all.

Well, no offense, just my personal opinion. I understand if someone changes the exhaust or something like that, but even then, it shouldn't be visible from the outside...

    greets taz

    Re: My GT3

Looks very "mean" indeed, I love the black color.
You should have stayed with the original GT3 rims (they have their advantages) but the Techart wheels look cool too.

    Re: My GT3

    Congrats!!!! Beautiful car

    Re: My GT3

srfr66: I love the look, exactly what I would have done

Taz I dislike mods myself believe it or not and I would have taken Porsche rim black coloured if available at all. The GT3 original ones do not fit the sporty character of the car in my opinion and a rather substantial number of Carrera shown up with these rims too. Least but not last I did not trade stock wheels which still quietly sleep in the garage.

    Re: My GT3

well, I like the GT3-wheel... the fact that people put it on normal carreras makes it somewhat less exclusive, but also shows that it appeals to people. Why wasn't it available painted black, if you must have it that way? When I visited Stuttgart, I saw this one with white rims...

Anyway, as you still have the original wheels, maybe you change your mind one day... BTW, I also have a black GT3 on order... we're not so different regarding color, it seems...

    Re: My GT3

    looks amazing!!!

    Re: My GT3

    Yargk,

I knew Techart also had a black GT3 that they were using as a "mule" for modificsations.

Do you know what mods they are working on?
I am curious about the induction system as well, since the GT3RS cup car uses an induction system with 6 throttle control valves instead of just one.

If you have any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Re: My GT3

    Taz,

That white GT3 has the GT3 RS' front bumper, it also has a roll bar, however it has the "regular" GT3's wing. Maybe this was GT3 RS test car!

    Re: My GT3

As far as I know, it was just a regular GT3 Clubsport with a special order for a Cup-Frontspoiler. It had a piece of paper inside saying so...

    Re: My GT3

If you guys don`t like the original GT3 wheels you find a Top option within the Pursch program. I mounted the "Carrera" wheels on my former GT3 cuz I hate Purschs with seeable tuning equipment from 3th party companys.

It`s very hard to find a wheel wich looks nice on a GT3 - the Carrera wheel looks awesome, its very easy to clean and you safe over 12 KG`s of weight comparing to the weight of the "old" GT3 rims!!! And you have a much better view and cooling on your brakes. The Carrera wheel is also available in 8J size for the front.

I`m sorry that I cant upload pics but if youre interesed how it looks mail me for a picture. Believe me that it looks cool on a GT3 and you dont find another GT3 with this wheels so fast.
And last not least you keep your baby original within the Pursch program.

    Re: My GT3

While I like seeing what others have done with their cars, I'd leave the stock wheels on if I had a GT3. I think they look better than most aftermarket and fit the car well.

The only thing that could get me to change would be if I could find wheels that are lighter than those from the factory... All in the name of performance

    Cay's photo!

I love this wheel. It is my favorite Porsche wheel. It has good practical advantages, that Cay mentioned, but it is also great aesthetically. A very clean and crisp design.

    Re: Cay's photo!

Is this Deutsche Bundespost's secret weapon in EU postal market deregulation? Am planning to do some business cruising on Autobahns soon. I'll look out for the postmen!

    Re: My GT3

Hey Taz, what splitter is on there? It looks bigger that the factory GT3 one????

    Re: Cay's photo!

it's a sleek wheel, but not original how porsche made the whole car, gt3...

Partyboy, I used my GT3 nearly only on tracks and also with winter tires in the snow what a fun!) and not for collecting.
in my opinion the very best way to USE and own a racer instead polishing him to dead or drive to front of bars. And if you ever cleaned a original BBS (GT3 old version) wheel you will give a [oops] on originilaity. But I taked care to stay within the original Pursch program.

And the most important thing for this wheel is that I saved over 12 kgs comparing to the original ones and that the brakes gets better cooling. I never had probs with stabilty with it - not even with Pirelli Corsas and hard GP track use.

@testdrv321: maybe wheels looks bigger but they arent - I run the car with factory size 225 & 285/18. But the (original)
suspension is optimized for track use.

    Re: Cay's photo!

you are right, it's above all a original porsche wheel...

for me it's only that you have to use the car how it is from factory. i mean, you can see on road stupid things and absurd combinations. it is quite rare to find a rim not from the porscheprogramm which looks good and stylish.

how is it possible, that this rim is much lighter an as stiff, material?

believe me i cleaned different times the old an now also the ne gt3 rims. if you cleane you have dirty hands after, regardless if it's a gt3 wheel or another

for me originality is as important as color or power, quite as important i think...

yes you are right partyboy but P1 by a trackcar is the functionality and the weight in my eyes. a collectors car have other priorities

agree 200% but tastes are different :-)

it`s easy cuz its a one part wheel and have not this million (material!) spokes like the gt wheel

like said by a racer in first line reduction of weight - I know guys who spend 2K just to save 3 Kg`s :-)

    Impressive use of "quotes" Cay!

    Re: gt3 wing

am i the only dweeb that can't stand the new gt3 wing, and prefers the "taco" wing on the original gt3?
