    Sport Mode

How often are all of you driving the car in Sport Mode?

    Re: Sport Mode

    80%

    Re: Sport Mode

Always..The first button I press when i gen in the car

    Re: Sport Mode

As soon there is no more traffic I activate the sport button, however, generally I leave suspension in normal mode depending on the quality of the road I am. Anyway, the faster you go and the more load you put on them (susp.) they automatically adjust.

Everytime I drive the car I press all 3 buttons from right to left: Sport mode on, pasm off and spoiler up.
It has become a reflex now at almost 15k miles

    Re: Sport Mode

99.9% .. 0.01% the period between statring the engine and push the button .. i use the sport mode for the suspension just for racing .

Ditto - helps me not to scrape the lip when I go down the driveway.

    Re: Sport Mode

    100%

    Re: Sport Mode

when i'm alone the sport button is ON 100% of the time..

When there is my girlfriend is usually off ,
but sometimes during a trip is easy that i must "engage" the racing mode, due to take out from the back of the car someone/something
and as soon i push the sport button my Gfriend start to me..

Sport Mode on and PASM off 100% of the time. Always leave PSM on. Sport Mode is especially usefull with Tip, since it makes the car start in 1st gear rather than 2nd.

    Re: Sport Mode

Honestly, I dont use it a lot, only if a Gallardo, Z06, F430..etc are next to me, sure it is ON

    Re: Sport Mode

The three buttons I press in the city:

    1. Sport mode
    2. Suspension (softer ride)
    3. Recirculating air

The real sports button comes from flipping the tip lever to the left putting it in manual mode.

Not sure what you mean here. If you push the sport's button, the suspension gets stiffer. Are you saying you can get the suspension back to softer and still have sport switch on??? What suspension button are you referring to????

    Not mine

With Sports-Mode enhanced it will still start in 2nd gear.

How did you manage first gear starting

That would be the next button over, the one with the little shock symbol.......sport button turns on two functions, you can turn PASM back off.

I'm not sure of the exact "science" but when I go down my driveway with the sport mode on, I don't scrape the lip - maybe the PASM keeps the shocks from compressing as early as they might in non-PASM mode - anyway seems to work for me.

You must first exceed 3300rpm - See page 75 of the manual (English version) for a full expanation of all Sport Mode features.

    Re: Sport Mode

On using the recirculating air....when I press the button, the automatic air button goes off. Do you find the same thing and I guess the air conditioner is still on...what is your interpretation???

Appreciation the answer on turning off the PASM when turning on the sport switch. I never would have found that and quit using the sport switch because of the firmer ride. Appreciate that bit of info.

    Re: Sport Mode

95% of the time in Sport Mode. Sometimes if I am in stop and go traffic I will switch it off because it feels less nervous using the clutch. I rarely engage the firm suspension setting, its downright brutal and is reserved for perfectly smooth roads.

Yes, pressing Sports brings the overboost. If you press the shock absorber button following the Sports button, the car gives a softer ride even with overboost.

I'm not sure if I'm actually turning off PASM when pressing the shock absorber button. All I sense is a softer ride which to me, provides more traction when road surface is not perfect.

Pressing Recirculating button overrides auto mode (hence dimming the auto light), cutting out outside exhaust good for city bad for highway or long distance - no fresh air, less oxygen - gets you tired sooner.

pressing the pasm button again turns off the light and the ride becomes softer, but I could swear it is not as soft as with the sport button off too. It seems to be an intermediate ride stiffness.

If you have access to an owner's manual you can find most of your answers there. You can usually tell if the A/C is on by either the light being off on the ECO button or the appearance of an A/C icon on the A/C screen.

Thanks, I'll need to do more experimenting! Curious what's the official take from Porsche, will check manual.
