    Color Stitching?

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if this cofiguration would be possible. I have been thinking of different color combos and know the combo is possible but was curious as to whether or not the stitching would be. I was thinking of speed yellow with blue interior with yellow stitching.

    Thanks guys
    Ciao

    Re: Color Stitching?

personally i would avice you to get speed yellow ,with black all leather and yellow stitching..personally i have on oreder guards red with black interior and red stitching

    Re: Color Stitching?

the black interior is one that I considered also, its a good idea, although I would not go for the full leather its nice and all but for $5000 cdn i just cant see the point. Can you get the yellow stiching without the full leather?

    Re: Color Stitching?

unfortunatly ,you cant get stitching without full leather...

    Re: Color Stitching?

o really, that is horrible but it is expected from porsche. its just such a waste to go with the full leather IMO. especially when after 1 yr the leather starts to wear and look like its cracking.

That "patina" is actually what makes leather look more special. But this is also a reason not to order light leather colours.

I would have loved to see yellow stiching on my 997 Carrera S because the car is all black with a black leather interior. The brake calipers are yellow and I also plan to get yellow seatbelts as a contrast to the overall dark colour of the car. On my list is also painting the rims black to make the yellow calipers "shine out".
I saw a picture of an Exclusive 997 with black painted rims and PCCB and it looked absolutely fabulous. I hate wings and spoilers but this is really something I would do.

And yes, for a guards red car, red stitching would look very nice. The only thing I don't like too much on my car is the colour of the instrument dials. I would have preferred black, plain black.

If I'm not mistaken I thought someone mentioned that the "silver" instrument dials were now "deletable".....or available in black as a no cost option if the buyer did not like them. I'm with you.....like 'em black....not silver.

while i admit the all leather is expensive, i don't think its a waste. it actually should be standard. a company of this cost and prestige should have nothing but full leather.

    Re: Color Stitching?

Don't do it, the colored threads, especially if they are light, will show how progressively dirty and worn the seats have become.

In the non-used areas threads will be nice the more worn areas will be obviously dirty.

I dunno--my 01 Turbo has all black full leather, which as you know comes standard with silver stitching. True confession--I mostly just vacuum the carpet and quickly wipe down the interior with a damp microfiber towel.

Three years and 30,000 + miles later and the stitching looks fine. I will give you that red or yellow against black will stand out more so it might not look as well over time, as mine has.

I'd still go for it--Guards Red with black leather and red stitching and red belts looks excellent. I have a friend with a GT3 that way, and it's great.

RC, would you be able to post that picture for me? I'm very curious to see it.

    Thanks

hi paul ,my december built car has exactly this configuration , i would love to see any pics of your friend car ,if you have any..
    thanks

    Re: Color Stitching?

He sold it last month--car attention deficit disorder!!!

    Re: Color Stitching?

To date in the US, exclusive interior options (Zxxx) for dev stitch are not as yet available

    Re: Color Stitching?

really? in europe it is available starting october built

    Re: Color Stitching?

I'm surprised why more P's don't have deviating stitching...seems like a potentially sophisticated, but fairly priced option. US 997 options seem chronically delayed...seems that many options like sports exhaust were originally scheduled for post-Oct availability....and have been now delayed to sometime in 1Q05.....more reasons to wait until 2nd yr production to get a more debugged car w/available options to make it more interesting, like sports exhaust, stitching, etc....
