    Go for LSD or no?

We may track the car very few times but other wise it will be driven in a dry environment, CA. What does the axel diff. lock rear do exactly and is it worth getting.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Definitely go for the LSD even if you only plan to track a few times. Even during street driving it will make a difference in terms of helping the car feel more "connected" to the road. Definitely recommend this option.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

I thought an electronic LSD was standard on the 997 TT?

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Nope...not standard. In fact, you can only get it as an option with the manual tranny not with the Tiptronic.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

When you see how badly some so-called sports cars behave without one and how with you then realize the utility of such an itam...

If pasm was that good why then porsche would be offering a sports chassis that is with an LSD ?

    GO FOR IT !!!!!!!!!!!11

Re: Go for LSD or no?

    definately get LSD

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Stupid question. Just to be sure, LSD is the following right:

    220 Axle-Differential Lock Rear

Re: Go for LSD or no?

    Yep, that's LSD alright.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

    Thanks.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Hi there, I am in CA too and did not order LSD on my car on purpose. I already have over 3000 miles on it and drive it pretty aggressively when possible. I still have to break traction with psm on, it doesn't happen easily on dry surface especially with the ps2. with psm off, the car will break traction of course. I would only get lsd if you are going to track the car. hope that helped.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

LSD is essential to any sports car in my opinion.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

I drove both versions. One with and one without and around the corners, it was easier IMHO to pour the power on without that "disconnected" feeling. The rear end also felt less inclined to swing out around the corners with LSD too. I drove both versions around a cloverleaf on/offramp several times just to compare. Without question the LSD version felt more planted.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

At 900$ it's a no brainer, would cost thousands to retrofit it later.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Agreed LSD is a no brainer IMO if you're gonna track the car.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

If the option of getting a LSD exists, don't hesitate...just get it.

It's not that the 997TT is bad without it...no...it's just that your 997TT will be better WITH it.

    Just my 2 cents worth...

Re: Go for LSD or no?

don't over think or justify it, just get it.

Re: Go for LSD or no?

Have you made a decision about the LSD yet? Get it or not?
