Any idea of the number of units?  I thought they would continue to expand production as needed, in order to maximize sales of this high-margin vehicle

RC should know better. Cialis (not for me, but I have heard). 53 and feel around 23.

first run or altogether?  how many .1GT3RS were produced? it would e interesting to have a comparison.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

.1RS were way more because there were less GT cars on the production line at that time (also GT3 Mk1 stop because of engine for 6 month ) - now you have multiple cars in the pipeline hence it can only be less

That the GT2RS is sold out I have also seen at my PZ in their official order System 2 weeks ago

Sold out??? As I understand the situation, the dealers have not yet a clou on there allocations yet, so what is "sold out"?

Sure, I guess PAG know that the demand will be higher than the production, but since the dealers don't know there allocations, nothing is sold yet in my opinion. When you have a specific client on a production planned car, then it's sold. Right now all we know is that the demand will be much higher than the planned production I.e "sold out" but NOT sold out in my opinionyes

    The farmer:

It means that most dealers don't take more orders because allocations are filled or not yet clear.

It probably depends on the dealer and region in Europe...but I agree, allocations aren't written in stone yet. Porsche would be foolish not to produce more cars if demand is very high.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Well, call few big PZs in BW or Bayern and ask about GT2 RS. "Sold out" as my P source told me.

Ask about new GT3 then. "Chances to get one are below 20%" is the usual answer. I was apparently very, very lucky when I secured my slot. I could even secure a slot(for myself) for 991.2 GT3 RS.

And "grey" dealers are already offering new GT3 at upcharge on mobile.de

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

"forecasted" production for the GT3 is also sold out....

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

There are no exact Dealer allocations for the GT2RS yet but the pre orders exceeding the expected availability. So the Dealers say: its sold out.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

The GT2 RS has never been offered to non VIP clients on first place. So practically it has been sold out from day 1. Not for this year but for the entire production run. The fact is for most people even the standard GT3 is already sold out. There is a big difference between virtual car shopping and actually securing a production slot for a limited production GT car in the current market.

That could well be true . My dealer only offered ( sent emails ) to his '' very special'' clients . Meaning people who have many , many  Porsche , or are proper collectors .

It was not even mentioned to me .

...according to Andreas Preuninger the GT2 RS might be a little bit faster than 340kmh!

on the second, two things. (1) a fairly extensive search online did not yield any fruit on this topic (which suggests it is a quite tightly held piece of information and I would not think Porsche / dealers are concerned about UNDERSTATING volumes right now so the concern is probably that the number is higher than commonly perceived!). (2) certain customers who have taken delivery of the R have had dealers validate this number as around 6000 units (for GT3 RS), and my suggestion is such customers are perhaps also amongst the best informed...

Talking to dealers? Smiley AND don't even believe one iota of information you get on Rennlist. Most online searches refer you back to Rennlist postings anyway.

I talked to Klaus Zellmer over dinner during Le Mans, the dealers' 'boss'.

Plus I was at the factory at various times during the period the GT3RS was in production. There aren't anything  close to 6000 GT3RS in the world. I might see perhaps 5-6 a day on the line at any given time, maybe 10 max produced a day, max capacity for GT cars is about 16-ish GT cars a day, 4000 a year. They were in production from May 2015 to Dec 2016. And the production of the GT3RS tapers off towards the end, like 1 or 2 a day.

During my last site tour in Zuffenhausen in spring 2016 I saw about 3-5 GT engines on the production line. This was within a time window of about 1h. As the regular GT3 was not on production in spring 2016 I assume these were all GT3RS engines. Based on this it seems likely that your estimate of 10 per day makes much more sense than assuming just 5-6 per day. Maybe they also did more than 10 pay day - would also be plausible based on my observation. Also, they had sooooo many GT3RS at all these Porsche Driving School events which also points to a very large production number, if you ask me....

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

Leipzig keeps around 15-20 PRODUCTION cars there to be thrashed around, Porsche Travel Club has another 15-20 or so. (The Travel Club cars are the ones that get used for schools)

I did enough schools to see the same carsindecision

so according to you about 4000 GT3RS?

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

the only interesting info would be per Country because surely there are a lot in the US & ME/Asia of the total production - so no matter what it's a rather low number compared to Ferrari's or Lambo's main models over a period of time. Probably McLaren's are rarest yes

The allocated cars are spoken for and even if new allocations come in, they have enough interested customers.

Why would they tell you anything else if you are not one of their (good) customers? Smiley

Many Porsche centers in Germany also have the policy to sell the car only to that specific region they are in (not all of them but many). My dealer sells only to customers in our region.

I don't have a clue about that. Smiley It seems that every dealership can make their own rules, which is weird.

This also includes those 150k EUR down payment when you sign the contract. I was able to reduce the sum to 125k EUR as a lease down payment, payable when the car arrives. Or better said...when it would have arrived, I decided not to do it for various (financial risk) reasons.

I cant help myself but I think this is probably the most ugly 911 they produced since the 996. It is just hideous.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 911 GT2 RS (2017)

I agree it's not a beauty. Needs at least a dark color to hide the fussy details. For the same money i'd prefer a 997 GT2 RS.

Nick is right, you need a black exterior for this car. It looks like they kept on adding styling pieces to distinguish it from the 3RS. The result is absmal. surprise
