Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    Hi everyone!

Yesterday I drove to beautiful Monterey, CA to take re-delivery of my 2007 C4S Cab!

WOW, seeing it again after nearly 2 months of waiting after the Euro delivery was like falling in love again!!! The car looked so amazing, like an incredible dream!!! The clear side markers are a big improvement too! Several employees at the dealership complimented the car- saying they were going to miss looking at it.

The long drive home was equally incredible- such an absolute joy, and so comfortable to drive( no need to stop and stretch my long, arthritic body )! Top down , 40-45 degree weather, all the way home.

My family absolutely LOVES the car too.

Last night I kept going to my garage to look at my car. Unbelievable- home sweet home, and it's really not just a dream!!! Truly a dream come true since I was about 8 yrs old.

Sorry, no more new pics as of yet- perhaps someone can instruct me how to reduce the picture size . Porsche-Jeck was kind enough to post some pictures of my "baby" the end of September during our visit and the factory delivery...

    Cheers/ Prost!

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    Congrats, great car.

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    congrats Richard on the re-acquisition.

    Steps to reducing pic size:

1- Click on 'start' bottom left corner
    2- Click on 'All Programs'
    3- Click on 'Accessories'
    4- Click on 'Paint'

5- (at top left) Click 'File',..'Open',....to select the pic
6- (near top center) Click on 'Image'
    7- Click on 'Stretch/Skew'
8- To reduce pic size by 50% for instance, overtype the 'Horizontal' % value with 50.
Likewise enter 50 for Vertical % value.
    9- Click 'OK'

10- Click 'File', then 'Save As'...make sure to rename file something different than the file's original name (adding the word 'Rennteam' to the filename for example always works) thus preserving your original 100%-sized file.

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Thirty-one!! I can't remember ever seeing that many on one post!! You are excited.

I actually don't expect to hear from you for a while...enjoy the car!

Seems like a looong time ago when you ordered it.

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Richard, so glad to hear you and your "baby" are reunited!
I didn't want to say anything but it seemed like a long separation, even to me, must have seemed like years for you!
Weather here in NC has been sunny & warm the past 3 days (60 to 70 degrees each afternoon with 3 or 4 more days of this on the way) so it's been top-down every day here.
Enjoy your beautiful car and yes, pics please.

    Don

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Aren't we both glad to be in California where we can use them year around!

(Can't say the same for my place in Jackson, Wyoming...)--18F last night.

or maybe 25% if your camara is high res...just make the pic fill up about 2/3rds of your screen

It can be done more simple:
1.In your map: "my pictures" you select the all the pics you want to reduce.
2.You choose (in windows XP) in the left margin:Send this file by e-mail
3.The PC will ask you: Do you want to send it like it is or would you like to reduce the size? Choose reduce.
4.Then you send all those pics you have choosen to your own e-mail adress
    5. When the e-mail arrives, you save the pics in a new map e.g "minipics"
    6.done! very simple!

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

I am happy for you Richard ! That was a loooooong wait, since you ordered it plus the wait for delivery, but now... it's there !! Enjoy it !!!!!!
Try to post some pics so we can share your joy

I am missing to look at it also Now after Damian has posted the instruction how to resize the pics there is no excuse anymore why not to post tons of pics showing the beautiful beast Actually I was just about to send you a PM with my probably useless translation of how to do the re-sizing when I saw this thread

I'm very happy for you, bud, that you're finally reunited with your Baby

BTW we had perfect cab weather over here today - 57*F I just don't know why I have let installed the winter wheels two weeks ago

    Thanks a lot, Damian!

Now if I can only find a way to post them- tried every which way - no dice ( only shows as an attachment , no pic(s) in body of post).

Thank you so much for all the nice comments guys! I love the car more each day!

Sorry I'm such a computer lame- I REALLY tried to post some pictures.

    Cheers/ Prost!

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Allow me to try to help Richard.
I'll try doing this step by step so this post will be edited several times as I add the steps.
Add a new post to this thread such as, "Here's my beauty!".
    Click Continue.
    Preview Post screen comes up.
Don't click "OK Submit" just yet.
Just above that see "You may attach a file if you like", click on the "Browse" box.
Find the pic you want to post on your computer.
    Click "Open".
The path to and your pic should now appear in the "You may attach a file .... " box.
    Now click "OK Submit".
    Give it a try.
    Don

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    another try

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    Thanks , Don! I tried.

Perhaps it's the format? The computer? Yeah, that's it- not me after all.

    How embarrassing- I'm through.

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

    Hi Richard,
Not to worry, some people (like me) know computers and very little else.

I was able to see "your baby" by clicking on the word "Attachment" in your previous post.
A beautiful P-car by the way!

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Thanks , Don. I'll figure it out eventually I'm sure.

John, that's funny and disturbing at the same time. Just showing off?

Re: Falling in love again... I CAN'T help it!!!

Congrats on your reunion. I'm glad you get to enjoy your car year round. I'm from SoCal and take my C2S cab. everyday to work. Part of my drive is a 12 mile stretch of highway every day to work and back on Pacific Coast Highway. I am too looking forward to my 997 GT3 which should be here anyday now. Haven't been able to get sleep last few days. Just thinking about the car too much. Well congrats again.

Thanks mvn1971! Welcome, and congratulations on your 997 GT3! Pictures please... hopefully you'll have much better success at posting than me. Lucky you to have such a nice drive to work ( and to own such terrific P-cars)!
