    Aventador SVJ

     

     

    Under the skin, Lamborghini has fettled with the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine so it now delivers 770 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Consequently, the SVJ can rocket to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 2.8 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 8.6 seconds and continue through to a 216 mph (350 km/h) top speed.

    Like the Aventador S, the SVJ employs Lamborghini’s rear-wheel steering system to improve manoeuvrability at low speeds and stability during high-speed cornering. Power is sent to the ground via the marque’s ISR seven-speed transmission and bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

    Lamborghini has outfitted the car with the second iteration of Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA). This advanced active aerodynamic system premiered on the Huracan Performante and has been further refined to help increase the car’s downforce by 40 per cent while also reducing drag by one percent.

    Looks great, will sound wonderful, but will again be limited by its gearbox - 2 out of 3 ain't bad though Smiley.

    there is some real pressure to SportAuto CG to come close to the "published" time in the supertest - I will laugh out loud but like with the GT-R they all will be sold by then - so job well done

    They won't be sold on the basis of the Ring time anyway.

    surely with that low number ! my point simply being that I just don't trust them. I am no Aventador expert but one drive here in Switzerland was enough for me to scare me deeply - the width and visibility is so bad on our narrow mountain roads it feels like you're driving a racetruck.....- I could not imagine taking it to its limits other than a wide racetrack

    This is why a Huracan Performante is the better and cheaper choice. Nobody needs more for either purpose, road or track. I love the Aventador for how it looks but even if I could afford it, I'd probably still go for the Huracan Performante.

    Smiley Smiley No, seriously...the next gen Aventador will be the last n/a. Future emissions regulations/laws make it impossible to stick to this engine for much much longer. Huracan could get a Biturbo V8 with the next gen. Smiley

    Lamborghini’s SC18 Is The First One-Off Created By Their Racing Division













     

    Called the SC18, the car is based on the Aventador and has been created by Lamborghini’s motorsport division. As a result, the car is designed primarily for track use and it features an aggressive aerodynamics package derived from motorsport.

    Starting up front, the SC18 has been equipped with air intakes that mimic those used on the Huracán GT3 EVO. The racing inspiration is also visible elsewhere as the hood-mounted air scoop and rear fin echo the ones used on the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO.

    Moving to the rear, the car has a massive carbon fiber wing with three mechanical adjustments. Designers also installed a sloping rear engine cover which has twelve vents to improve cooling.

    Speaking of the engine, the SC18 has a 6.5-liter V12 that produces 759 hp (566 kW / 770 PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque.  This means the model is as powerful as the Aventador SVJ Coupe which can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).

    While Lamborghini didn’t mention performance specs for the SC18, the company did confirm the car’s engine is connected to an optimized seven-speed ISR gearbox.

    Since the model was created by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the SC18 is extremely lightweight.  The company didn’t mention numbers, but noted the car has a carbon fiber body and other “ultralight materials.”

    The SC18 was developed with input from the car’s owner and they apparently wanted a Grigio Daytona grey exterior with red accents.  The two-tone theme is continued in the cabin as there’s carbon fiber bucket seats with black Alcantara upholstery and red contrast stitching.

    Despite the focus on track performance, the SC18 is road legal.  That’s certainly a bonus and one that will ensure the car gets plenty of use.

    Super lightweight? 50 kg less? Smiley Smiley I don't see how they could shave off more than 50 kg, maybe 100 kg if one is optimistic. Unless this car costs over a million (which it probably does anyway Smiley) and they used a lot of lightweight materials to replace regular ones allover the car.

    The engine with 770 hp is also kind of a disappointment and shows that the 6.5 l is kind of at it's power's end in the current configuration. 800 hp should be reserved for the next gen I suppose, maybe a bit more.
