The Face of a New Cayenne

    Sorry if re-post

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

That doesn't look good at all. To feminine for an SUV.

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

To me it makes the nose look really small

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

    this was posted months ago,

it is clearly a photoshop, the lights are taken from early photoshops of the 997, while the grilles are stretched versions of the ones on the boxster.

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

It is a repost and it won't happen. Just a little Autobild fantasy...

Thank God - it looks terrible

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

    hahahaahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhaha!!!

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

But If Porsche tries to keep the design line of the 997??

How would look the next cayenne?

    Porsche policy for the future:

    911 is 911
    Boxster is Boxster
    Cayenne is Cayenne
    Carrera GT is Carrera GT

Four different models, four different (corporate design) looks.
The Cayenne is no 911 and the 911 is no Cayenne.

    I hope so but....
As I know people from VW wanted to put a diesel engine in Cayenne so nothing can't surprise me anymore

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

    Dear all,
Obviously during summer vacation there has been not too much E-Mail traffic concerning any news and rumors on future changes for the Cayenne. But perhaps now you specialists out there have any news regarding a facelift for the Cayenne. (MY 06 ) I ordered a CT MY 05in June ( delivery october - counting days )and I would be disappointed if Porsche does a major change already after three years.
    Thank you for updating me.
    Tom911.

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

Why should it have facelift in 05-06? Have a look at the 911 history, Porsche usually "changes" the model and or making facelift after 4 years at least, that means 2007-2008. Cayenne sales are doing very well and the vehicle is just the best of its category and considering the way Porsche changes its models (conservative so the previous models look actually authentic) you dont have to worry. Enjoi this great car

I'm just curious: why would people from VW want to put a Diesel engine into the Cayenne???
Porsche isn't owned by VW, so they have no saying in model decisions. And why should VW want Porsche to build a direct competitor to VW's very succesful Touareg V10? This doesn't make any sense.
But maybe you have a good story for us...

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

    echoooooo

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

On that subject sorta. New Jersey law now states that if a Diesel powered vehicle is standing idle for 5 minutes they ticket and fine you $3000.

Multiple reports on local news channel.

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

I wonder what the diesel future is in the US. There seems to be increasing interest by some people along with increasing opposition by other groups. The New Jersey law that Mike refers to is a good example of the opposition. Strangely, liberals and environmentalists are on both sides of the issue, being for the diesels lower fuel consumption but against the additional pollutants. Conservatives don't seem to particularly care, except for certain Texans that love their big-rig diesel pickup trucks.

I seem to recall comments from Wiedeking that were very much opposed to any Porsche having a diesel. He has said more than once that there would not be a diesel but I have also seen comments where he said there would be one if the market demanded it. The last detailed discussion he had on the subject made the case for the gasoline engine being the superior motor for both low fuel consumption and low pollutants. He said the popularity of the diesel was due more to incentives governments granted that fuel rather than any technical advantage it might have.

Re: The Face of a New Cayenne

This clearly demonstrates how smart law makers are .... With that type of law, lawyers won't be out of job anytime soon!!!!

    Re: Diesel vs Petrol

I'm not quite sure one technology is superior to the other one. Each one has its pros and cons. BUT the only market where diesel car sales are really significant is Europe and clearly this is because of fiscal incentives (diesel fuel is cheaper than gasoline). For example, in the UK where prices are more or less the same, diesel sales are much lower than in the rest of Europe. In the US, diesel sales are basically non-existent (for passenger cars) while it's forbidden in Japan !!!
I remember, Mr Wiedeking saying roughly that Pleasure starts above 4000rpm and this is exactly where diesel ends .... so he was giving little hope to see a Porsche car powered by a diesel engine.
This being said he can change his mind.
