    C2S pics

It's been a lovely day here so I went off out to view the progress on my latest Ferrari restoration project. Before I left I took a few quick pics of my 991 C2S and our Cayman R which I thought may be of interest.

    Re: C2S pics

It did indeed John. We are still offcially in drought here with a hosepipe ban in place. I stopped for lunch at a nice restaurant on the Hambleton peninsula on Rutland Water which is where Anglia Water supply us from. The reservoir is at it's highest level and I've never seen it that high in over 10 years.

Great pictures of two amazing cars.  Smiley

Good to see that black stone guards look good on the 991 as well.  Also enjoyed seeing that you have black lower sections on your side mirrors.  I'm thinking of doing the same thing on my white GTS, but I have to decide between doing either the lower or the (larger) upper sections in black.

How's the Ferrari project coming along?

    Re: C2S pics

The Ferrari is looking fantastic. I can't wait until it's finished. I may start a new thread on it.

    Re: C2S pics

You "may" start a new thread on it? Thats just mean Iain smiley

the car looks great, I specialy like the 911 only badging in the rear. You know h of to make a car looks amazing Iain, we're going to give you the title of "master configurator"

So what is exactly the difference between his side mirrors and standard ones?!! to me they look the same - black plastic is standard.

    Beautiful cars there!

    Re: C2S pics

Yellow suits the new 991 better than I thought...bravo...very nice choice. Smiley

Yes, I see it does appear to be standard on the 991 (hadn't actually noticed this before).  They weren't standard on the 997 of course.

    Re: C2S pics

    Now there's a petrolhead's stable! Wonderful!

    Re: C2S pics

The 991 definitely stands out in this colour, more so on a dull English rainy day

It takes some bravery to specify a car according to your own personal taste ignoring the market trends.

Your Cayman R is a jewel too kiss

Pardon my ignorance, but what Ferrari are you restoring right now? I only remember the 911 that you intended to restore this year.

The yellow color on the C2S does stand out but I personally think that the car, in its regular state, looks too civilized. I honestly believe that for example the chin spoiler of the -20mm package would look more appropriate on this car.

Ferdie, I believe ISUK is having a second Dino restored.

    Re: C2S pics

    Ferdie,

I've bought another two Dino's plus the old targa so my restoration projects are backing up smiley

I'll put together a new thread on the progress made to date on my 2nd Dino in the Ferrari section.

I've just got back from visting my Porsche dealer and he has just bought an amazing 993 C2S that has had a full restoration with no nut, bolt or rubber left untouched. The solid black paintwork was done by the bodyshop that are doing my Dino and is fantastic. The attention to detail on the restoration of this car has to be seen to be believed. It looks like it has just rolled off the line at the factory and been delivered to the dealership. He intends to keep it a showroom display car. Anybody travelling near the Porsche Centre Silverstone (the dealership in Towcester not the Porsche Driving Experience Centre at the race circuit) should drop by and look at it if they have even a passing interest in the 993.

    Re: C2S pics

Have you decided for the color of the second Dino? You probably have but can I just say that a black Dino would be out of this world.

    Thanks Iain,

that actually sounds pretty clever. As if you already made a business out of it. Smiley

In case you made some pictures of this particular 993, I guess nobody here minds seeing them. Smiley

    Re: C2S pics

    Enmanuel,

The second Dino is a two owner car and was 100% original so has remained in it's original colour which is my favourite for a Dino. The new thread will reveal all when I get it sorted kiss

    Ferdie,

These old timers will be part of my slow release pension fund in 20-25 years time indecision In the meantime I am going to drive them and enjoy every last £ I've invested in them smiley

Given the times we are living in, this sounds cleverer then any conventional pension fund . Maybe I should look into it Smiley
